We keep telling you. MJ was different. The highlights don't show squat compared to watching his career while it happened. He was truly Black Jesus. He was feared. He dominated. DOMINATED! 10 scoring titles. Look how he hit those fadeaways after Garnett talked ish. Eye test bro. He's the goat.

The thing is, living in Chicago during that time, we got to watch those games on WGN all season. His highlight reel is great. What so many people don't understand is that there were a couple highlights like on the reel just about every game. Jordan's bag was so deep that visiting arenas that would be half-full most of the time, would sell out when Jordan and the Bulls came to town (one of the reasons he wanted to play every game). I know a lot of Jordan detractors think the talent wasn't deep during MJ's time in the league. There are more HOF players from the 80s and 90s than any decades before or since. So many of those greats played entire careers & never got rings cause they had to get past the Bulls to earn them.

  • @MullyShaves

Man, it’s hard to explain to anyone who didn’t live through it just how big Michael Jordan was during his prime. It wasn’t just basketball-it was a cultural phenomenon. Every city he played in, it was like the circus was coming to town. Tickets sold out instantly, and if you were lucky enough to get one, you held onto it like it was gold.
When MJ was coming, you’d see a buzz in the city for weeks. People would talk about it at work, at school, even in the grocery store. The game wasn’t just a game-it was an event. And when he stepped on the court? The energy was insane. You didn’t just watch Jordan play; you felt it. Whether it was the dunks, the fadeaways, or those moments when he would just take over-you knew you were witnessing greatness.
Kids today might have TH-cam highlights, but they’ll never know the excitement of turning on the TV live and seeing MJ in a Game 7 or dropping 50 on your favorite team. He wasn’t just a player; he was the guy. The Air Jordan era was a vibe, man, and you couldn’t help but be swept up in it.

    From "The Book Of Basketball:
Even during the summer of 2001, when Jordan was running the Wizards but reportedly mulling a comeback, a slew of NBA teams voyaged to Los Angeles to watch a few California prospects work out. Jordan was there. So was L.A. native Paul Pierce, who spent a little time with Jordan because of his friendship with Chicago native (and then-Pierce teammate) Antoine Walker. At some point, Pierce started talking smack to MJ. You better not come back. This is our league now. We don’t want to embarrass you. That kind of stuff. Jordan nodded happily with one of those “Okay, okay, just wait” faces, finally saying, “When’s our first game against you guys? I’m gonna make it a point to drop 40 on you.” You could almost imagine Jordan pulling out a piece of paper and adding Pierce’s name to the list of Guys Whose Butts Need to Be Kicked. Of course, Pierce’s coach at the time (Jim O’Brien) overheard the running exchange and quickly pulled Pierce away, imploring his star, “Never talk to him. You hear me? That’s the one guy you don’t talk smack to!” And this was when Jordan had been retired for three full years. Three! Even then, at thirty-nine years old, a current NBA coach considered him a viable threat and someone who shouldn’t be angered under any circumstances. Wake me up when this happens again in my lifetime.

Johnny Arnett found the actual games on nba tapes and confirmed theses stories 😅
Dominique and the Hawks won that game when MJ went into the visitors lockers. Mike was great but had no real help until Pippen came the next year.

Ive been watching ur videos of late. Talking about MJ and his defense, one of his best blocks happened while he was past 40 and playing with the Wizards. Type in MJ block Wizards. Also I wanted to give you this line of his 1988 season. MVP of season/ DPOY of season/scoring leader ppg/ lead the league in steals per game/ First team all NBA/ first team all defense team/ MVP of All Star Game/ NBA slam dunk Champ......

Jordan learned to play mind games from larry bird. Larry Bird was the master of getting in your head and remaining there before, during, and after the game. As a result people learned to be smart and careful when facing him as too much trash talk will only lead to bird putting his full skills to use against you. Jordan learned much from bird in that regard and when you see games of him before bird and games after bird you can easily spot the difference in how much jordan improved under bird's advice.
