I'd love to see hydros! It's what I'm going with that on my new system. To see you document hydros your hydros journey like the ICP and aquabiomics would be a dream
I feel you on the big plastic tub. I've been running a 100gal tub with all my fish and coral for the last 3 months while I was in between tanks waiting for my new waterbox 230.6 to arrive and get it all setup. So over it! Just got water into the new setup this week though!
I did the tub of sand in my sump. So far so good. My one tank with sand is great and stable with growth but gets so dirty and hard to clean without tanking the no3/po4 at the same time. The Filter sock on the drain should keep the sump sand from getting too full of detritus and uneaten food.
I believe your crab is a shore crab. I had one in my DT that came with some rock. While all crabs can be different, mine was a great scavenger and did not touch any of my corals. They are great escape artists though. In fact mine got out of my tank and ended up two tanks away.
Was told by Red Sea that with their eco system, Hydros and Apex will only be able to do turn on and off equiptment. I opted to just run the ReefBeat app and so far I’m having no issues.Im running 2 Red Sea reef tanks right now with ReefBeat. Like you Remi , both my aquariums(300Xl and 200) are 100% Red Sea eco systems except for the heater, UV, GFO and CO2 scrubber. I just completed setting up the new Max Nano G2+ tonight and that will be another Red Sea eco system.
The most exciting thing I've had in ages is a harem of pygmy angels (up to 8 Centropyge argi), as well as shoals of masked gobies (C. personatus). Give it a try.
STL trans plant to Tampa Bay. That is a baby fiddler crab, will start to try and get out of the sub as it gets bigger. Best controller, have 2 6 plug Alexa power strips on my tank. Can turn all items on and off from my phone.
Looking nice Remy! I use a hydros controller and I'm happy with it, does what I tell it to do and easy to program. Centropyge argi, the pygmy angel, been good with me in my mixed reef, though not the best polyp extension on my acropora. So with caution
I've got one in the lagoon! Love that little fish. I'm just afraid I'll never see him if I put him in the big tank. He loves hiding in the rock work. ~Remy
Hey ! can you share your redsea light schedule ? do you use preset Redsea like 100% blue and 10%white ? or a custom ? can you do a PAR review on those redsea light ?
Bro watching from day one to now what an upgrade ! Looks so much better they taking care of you over there at reef builders lol. I’d have to say looks like bicolor blenny if I had to guess
Thank you for the comment! It's been quite a roller coaster over the past 5 years or so. I'm so pumped to get this tank stocked with fish and coral! ~Remy
How is your Weeping Willow going I love that coral is half the reason I want to get into this reefing scene i just hope i can get one hear in Australia
I did the same thing with my sand from Tampa bay. Btw I got one of those crabs too. He stayed in my sump but I think the gorilla crab that came with the package got him.
Thankfully, I haven't seen any gorilla grabs yet. It's insane how many Caribbean crab species there are...he can stay in the sump for the time being. ~Remy
I have the same tank. I saw in one of your videos of your 625. You have 2 Red Sea 45 pumps. I have the same ones in my tank. You have one of them half way down on one side and the other side up at the top. What was the reason for that. I have both of my pumps at the top on both sides.
So the crab seems like a standard swimmers crab/mud crab. They are everywhere here in Florida. However it is hard to tell without seeing the claws. Can you post another video or post on IG pics of the claws?
I started out with Apex for a controller but used Hydros in my latest and I’ve been really happy with Hydros. I’d like to see you test out hydros on this system and get your feedback on how it works and compare it to other controllers you’ve used
personally I don't use controllers, I'd love to try it one day but unfortunately that are massively out of my budget. If money was no object I'd definitely add a controller for my reef and for my freshwater system as well!
For the most part, the Reefbeat app kinda acts like a controller. I'd just love live PH readings. I know I don't have to get a full controller for that but we'll see. Step by step! ~Remy
It's been good so far. Had to get a replacement ato from redsea pump was very loud. Not enough room for all the electronics and ato tank, so bought a cabinet to store all the controllers and wires.
Definitely has the legs of a pom pom...However, I've got one in another tank and after comparing the body it's definitely not. Still on the hunt! ~Remy
Why would you get ridiculed for sand in the sump? The idea works in theory, don't know if it will work in practice. Let us know how it goes... It may or may not benefit the succession that will take place in the display. But it certainly should help moderate the water chemistry. And hack, I'd probably keep it in the sump and use it for substrate in a refugium
I’m a huge Red Sea fan! Love your system! Enjoy the journey and looking forward to following the build!
No way. Should’ve sold you my tank. I trade it for a bag of hot Cheetos
I'd love to see hydros! It's what I'm going with that on my new system. To see you document hydros your hydros journey like the ICP and aquabiomics would be a dream
So happy to see this tank rolling! Strong work yet again Remy!
YES - gotta get to that stocking video asap. ~Remy

CANNOT WAIT to see what we've got cooking together! Going to be awesome, tank is looking good Remy!
-Blaine
YES!!! ~Remy
Looking forward to watching this grow.
I love a good couple of wrasse! 2 tops but they are always amazing work horse to get in early, nice blenny!
Blennies have personalities for sure! This midas is already a fan favorite. ~Remy

😳🤣🤣
Great build so far! I just deployed Hydros on my system and I love it so far. Definitely recommend giving it a try.
That's 2 suggestions for Hydros thus far! The next video will be fun! ~Remy

Nice job Remy tanks going to be awesome to watch the progress
Nice new tank Remy. Hope all is well.
Tanks looking amwsome👏 👏 bravo and my guess on the first fush in there is the molly miller blenny

3rd Hydros rec....I love the whole centropyge genus. I'm a sucker for the dwarf angels. ~Remy
I would might as well set up that profilux. I just use mine for monitoring ph.
Great video Remy, keep it up brother
It's there right!? In the same boat, love the live monitoring of PH. ~Remy
@@ReefBuildersVideo Set that baby up! I love GHL gear with a passion. Gotta love the German reefers
Awesome to see this tank up Remy! A cool fish I enjoyed having is my yellow assessor I think jake had one in the past too although theyre a bit pricey
I've got one in the lagoon! Love that little fish. I'm just afraid I'll never see him if I put him in the big tank. He loves hiding in the rock work. ~Remy

Thanks! Excited for the next phase! ~Remy

Pom Pom crab without the pom poms 😂
Yes, super aquarium safe!
Nice! Please get lid for your tank. fish will jump especially in a new tank.
Lid is in the works! Have some pond netting in the meantime. ~Remy
Nice!
This looks like a common sand crab that you will find on the beach😊

Looks like possibly a mangrove crab
Sa-wheat tank! Looking forward to watching it mature over time.
Me too! ~Remy
I’m 98% sure that’s a Midus Blenny! If so, excellent choice for a first fish!
Nailed it!! Love this little dude's personality already! ~Remy

I'll see if I can catch him on camera! I need just a tad more light for the camera. ~Remy

4th Hydros suggestion. Thank you! ~Remy
Congrats
Thanks! ~Remy
Can never go wrong with a geometric Pygmy hawk
Looking good 👌💯✌️
It's been 3 months now. Any updates on this new tank?
Nice set up. Do you have redsea reef 160 leds? or the 90.
Those are the 160's. We'll get into lighting a bit in the next episode. Initial PAR readings are decent! ~Remy
It would be so awesome to have a nano reef tank up date even tho we all know it wont be the same.
The nano in the studio? ~Remy
Quarantine those corals!!!
Lawn mower blenny!
You're half right! It's a blenny....but it's a Midas! ~Remy
Finally!!!
I knowwwwwwwwww ~Remy
As for model citizens in a tank, Golden Cuban Basslet. Swimming in your tank, would that be your blenny.
Those basslets are beauties! I have a golden assessor in another tank - one of my favs. ~Remy
Is that your Molly Miller Blenny in the new tank? I can't wait to see more updates on the tank!
It's a blenny for sure! Not the MM though. ~Remy
I tried looking up the crab on the TBS hitchhiker page as well as others but still can't identify! Maybe just let it chill in the sump forever.
I'll leave him in there he finds a way out...lol. I come down and he's just chillin outside the tank! ~Remy
It's a Midas Blenny swimming around
You got it! Long body and bright! ~Remy
where is the next update ?

Definitely a midas blenny
NAILED IT. He's already got an awesome personality too! ~Remy
Do reef moonshiners!
I've thought about it. Gonna let it settle in for a few months first. ~Remy
Would be great if you don't use controller as most of us reefers don't have it so it would give realistic experience for most of us to learn from.❤
Could it be a porcelain crab?
Blue spot jaw fish
Oh man...that would be a power move! Lol. First fish is $250. You're close! Right body type for sure! ~Remy
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looks like a midas blenny
You got it! ~Remy
Midas Blenny
Nailed it! It's a lively one! ~Remy
Definitely that chubby blenny is in your tank
Close! A midas! ~Remy
Is that a second new tank right behind you???!
It tis! That's the 4ft tideline I've been talking about forever! ~Remy
is that a midas blenny ?
Yep! My kids named him Bagel. Bagel the Blenny lol! ~Remy
@@ReefBuildersVideo That's a Happy Looking Blenny
Looking forward to see all the new fishes and corals 🤘🤘
That looks like a Midas blenny.
Nailed it! ~Remy
Hydros please
Been thinking about it! ~Remy
I just got my red sea 525 about a month ago.
Keep us posted! How are you liking it so far? ~Remy
It's been good so far. Had to get a replacement ato from redsea pump was very loud. Not enough room for all the electronics and ato tank, so bought a cabinet to store all the controllers and wires.
look like a pom pom crab or boxer crab from the backside. just a guess
Definitely has the legs of a pom pom...However, I've got one in another tank and after comparing the body it's definitely not. Still on the hunt! ~Remy

Ridicule for spending a ton on sand and then not properly displaying it! I'm definitely going to use some in the next build. It's gorgeous! ~Remy
Canary blenny I think.
Similar colors, especially from a distance...it's a Midas! ~Remy
Blenny
It's definitely a blenny - of the midas variety! ~Remy
Midas blenny
Easy peasy! Nailed it! ~Remy
LL a midas blenny
Nailed it! ~Remy
Looks like a midas blenny to me
Looks like YOU'RE RIGHT! ~Remy
Why did he switch to reef builder his other his channel was waaay better
No controller. Keep it simple. Encourage broke people get into the hobby with bigger tanks and no controller.
Midas blenny
BINGO! ~Remy
