While I wasn't the biggest Razer fan, I was a bit disappointed they didn't come back for season 7 after that falling out in the European Championship. This match was definitely a turning of the guard...it's time for the next generation of robots to take over.

Except that Team Cold Fusion didn’t win here either. They didn’t beat Razer; they just struggled a bit and fell down with it. They would’ve been down the pit either way in that situation.

As excited as I was to see Razer return in Series 8, and was disappointed to see it fall out so embarrassingly here in the first round, I honestly don’t believe it ever should’ve returned after Robot Wars’ initial end. I loved Razer back in the day, but let’s be honest - it wasn’t able to properly crush or pierce other machines anymore with how far they’d evolved and hardened up. And more so than that, the destructive potential of spinner weapons would’ve probably seen it wrecked and sent to be scrapped, even with Razer’s anti-spinner wedge that it wasn’t able to use. If Ian Lewis thought what Pussycat did to his machine was infuriating, how bad would it have been on the receiving end of _Carbide,_ especially when both robots were in this same Heat?
As legendary as Razer remains, it really is still a product of 1998 in spite of the gradual improvements.

To be fair, it is at least a step further since this time Team Cold Fusion lost this battle _with_ Razer.
