Love this idea. My wife and I are planning an exploratory trip there next year. So this will be a perfect introduction to Cuenca. Mansion Alcazar is by far and away the best choice. The gardens and intimacy of the spaces seem to represent the essence of this city. The retreat looks wonderful and delicious. Can't wait.
Yaaaay. I'm happy you and your wife could use a retreat like ours. It would be our pleasure ❤️☺️🙏🏾 We loved Mansion Alcazar too, the inner gardens stole my heart. The combination of nature and old style architecture really gives you a unique experience. Thanks for watching and commenting. We appreciate you ❤️
My wife and I just did our exploratory trip in June of this year. We liked Cuenca so much that we are moving there in June 2025. I saw all the hotels from the outside on our daily walks. I liked the 3rd one the best. Lower price point and people are going to explore, not stay in a hotel. I wish you were up and going when we were there, we would have enjoyed your service.
Congrats on making the preparation to making the jump! I'm starting my third week of my 11 week exploratory trip and already know I'm going to make Cuenca my home in early 2025. This place is amazing!
Congrats on your preparations 💐💐. Wishing you all a smooth transition here. Cuenca is a special place, the best city I've ever lived in. The third hotel seemed like a good choice to us, as well. The only issue was, we were only able to see one room, and have no idea about the state of the other rooms. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🙏🏾
Beautiful hotels! My husband and I are planning to come the first of the year. I can’t wait! Especially to taste all the yummy things we see you both enjoy! Blessings to you both and thank you for sharing your experiences in Ecuador!
Amazing. I'm happy to hear you and your husband are planning a trip here. I hope you enjoy it. And let us know if you need any recommendations or tips. Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️
Beautiful! I always note the deep low riser stairs. So smart. Gorgeous furniture. I wonder how they acquired all that ? Europe over the years??? Lovely. I bet 'coolj so bring your wool sweater :-) Great idea - seminars........orientation to Ecuador/Cuenca. Beautiful work!!!
That's a good question. I wonder where all the furniture came from. But Since the Spanish colonized this region, it's not uncommon to see historic Spanish style furnishings around, even made here in Ecuador. I won't be surprised. if they were made here, and not brought from Europe. Thanks for watching and supporting ☺️
Those hotels are Stunning!! WOW! &100 is a lot cheaper than 2 and 3 star hotels here in Canada! Cannot wait to see more of what you have planned for all of us 💖💖
Wow. Canada seems like a very expensive country. And I agree, the hotels were very aesthetically pleasing. Very beautiful! Manifesting stays at some of these places. Thanks for watching and commenting☺️🙏🏾.
@@TheXplorasDiary Canada is very very expensive! I love it here because it is so beautiful and I am so very grateful for all of the many cultures here. I just cannot afford to live here anymore. We pay the highest taxes, just under 50% of our earnings go to taxes. It is how we do get “free health care” but we also have to wait years to get in to a specialist and to get the proper treatments that we desperately need. There is so much wrong with Canada and it’s breaking my heart. I will always keep dreaming of at least a trip down to Ecuador! I will also love to have you two as tour guides 💖💖

I'm so happy and proud of my friends this is an incredible idea. Thank guy's
Thanks🙏🏾. We didn't stay there. We asked the hotel workers if they could show us their available rooms, because we were interested in seeing what they looked like for an event we were planning. They all graciously obliged.
These prices are RIDICULOUS! Do your homework……don’t get ripped off. The staff probably make about $3/hour. $350 for one night? On a street that is one of the nosiest and most polluted? Nah, total rip off.
I see where you're coming from. But I also think the area affects the price. These Boutique Hotels are located in the Centro Historico area, the heart of the city. So It's not too surprising that the average prices are $100 and onwards. We've stayed at Oro Verde in Guayaquil on two occasions and it costs approximately $100 a night. As we're researching, I'm noticing a trend of approximately $100 and above a night for "nice hotels" If you know of any nice hotels which are much more affordable, please do share with us, and we'll check them out. I can assure you - we are doing our homework, not only online, but showing up to these hotels to take a look at things ourselves, speak to management and get price quotes on site.
Staying in El Centro for your retreats can be challenging. The amount of noise, pollution, traffic (both foot and vehicle), fireworks, etc can be off-putting for people coming to Cuenca for the first time. Especially if they pay for a room that is $350 for one night. Let me know if you specifically want hotel info in El Centro or if you are open to other areas of Cuenca. Cheers.
@@ktown92 Just to clarify - Only one room at Itza cost that much, and it was the Presidential suite, most of the rooms were in the $100s. Like the others. We don't necessarily foresee people booking that room for a retreat. However, we showed it just to highlight their most beautiful and expensive room. Perhaps, a viewer with the pockets may be able to afford it on a trip to Cuenca. Feel free to drop your hotel recommendations, in Cuenca or other areas, because we're still hotel shopping.

PS) holiday weekend, US. Nice weather most places. Winter forecast is early & 'cold/ton snow'...

Are there any hotels with elevators? I have a knee issue but want to visit there so badly.
Yes, some of the hotels have elevators. I distinctively remember ITZA having an elevator.
