Jon Fishman is still such a Musician's Musician. This is such a clean cut recording too, you can hear it his intentions so clearly. His dynamic control is outlandishly subtle. The way he leads from behind is second-to-none. They're going to tighten it up a bit and this tour is going to be historic. Beautiful!
Those notes the subtle hesitations there will never be anybody that can do it better.... The universe may bless us with someone in the future who can do it as well but it will never be topped I thank the universe for this band...
You know it's about to get real when Page starts hovering over the keyboard like that! The little weird laughs were definitely strange Love you guys so much, keep that heat coming!! Texas will be waiting as patiently as possible for next tour
Y'all are way too harsh. First show in a year and a half. First show of the tour, and these guys are in their later 50s. They're obviously not gonna be at their best--this Slave wasn't great, but the Wolfmans, DwD, Simple, and most of the 2nd set were really good. For a tour opener, this show exceeded my expectations.
Show was really hyped up. Seems reasonable to be disappointed, but when you think about it the performance was probably what should have been expected. I was just happy to be seeing Phish again. Hopefully by the Gorge (my next show) they will be back to 100%.
I can't wait for 3 days in AC. Just getting out and enjoying music should be enjoyable to people. I've seen bad shows. Does it suck, yes it does. But if I was to say I was on top of my game every day at work I'd be a liar haha.
For f$cks sake. It's just so tight. Can't help grinning from ear to ear. It's so good. Almost as if they are challenging themselves who can be more precise. Oh man I miss seeing them play live. Outstanding work y'all.
Great jamming at the second half with the grunts lol!!! These guys raging still! Great jam, cant wait to see you guys in atlantic city!!!!!!! I'll be sending all the good vibes! ❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤🤗🍄🤹♂️🌵🍻
Effortless and fluid chops here, from Jon Fishman! Alike all these songs, listeners can immediately tell it’s Fishman playing within just a few bars of a song, which is a true mark of a musician/artist whose style, individuality has matured deeply thru the years into a recognizable “signature” all their own.
For real man. Before a hurricane hit us down here I had Coral Sky, the crazy Clifford Ball collection, Live in Brooklyn, and many more. Wonder why they stopped putting out releases like that. They could even just make HD video download purchases of the shows that they stream on LivePhish and I would go buy some of the shows I've been to in a heartbeat (and others).
Thaink I saw Phish in Charlotte although I cain't be 1--% shure. That Paige Piona playa is mightly talented. Very uniquest sytly. Never head anyone play quite like him. Truly great stuff.
Am I the only one who kinda weirdly enjoyed the ambient grunting? I’m sure I’d get fed up with it if it was at every show, but as a one-off creative oddity, it certainly made me listen!
remember listening to complaining phans during the shows in late 90's(?!) 😆 imho live music is about the now, a new moment... not what it "should" sound like but what it is, now. Relax, enjoy the new now, or you could miss the next greatest moment.
Went back to the AMP last week to see The Black Keys and a guy working there told me that this show held the record for the most pukers at any show there. I don’t personally recall all that much vomiting but I was only paying attention to the show. Please come back guys.
who was making that.....ooh ooo ooh sound???? God, that is bad. What a sick tune, and great ending here...they are a bit out of shape but should be starting to gel by AC....git some
@@DizzyLicks000 I see a new nameless amp in the center, It kinda looks like a Marshall given the colors, but it looks to be something custom. Could be that he's got the Komet Amps behind the cabinets though. Definitely intrigued!
He’s not using the komets. He’s never had a Marshall head that I know of. Mostly a Boogie mark I head early, deluxe reverbs, i think very briefly a bogner shiva, the komets and now an unknown amp.
@@bohnnco I did a little looking and all I could find was that it's from a Boutique amp building shop in NYC. Currently referred to as the "Special Guest Amps"
Slave just kills me every time. So incredibly beautiful. If I had to pick my favourite Phish song, this would be it.
Mine too!
Many tears of joy over the years from both Slave and Hood 🤘🏼🧡

The difference between a good band and a great band is the drummer
Jon is the best
Aye Henrietta!
this tour has officially become epic!
Agreed
What a great show as a tour opener. Thanks for playing Arkansas!
So much space in this version you could park a jet in this song. What a refreshing take.
Agreed. I loved it. Super vibey.
This was the first Phish song I ever heard many, many years ago.
I heard it at my first show along with Fluffhead

I really wish Phish would release some shows on bluray or 4K UHD.

Okay but I would like to recognize how well whoever was running the lights did, they go with the music perfectly

That new doc sounds very choice..😎
Should have uploaded Simple imo but this Slave is fine (despite the grunting)
THIS is the highest quality Live Phish ever produced. This is just incredible. Try 4 k… wow
