Fish is such an underrated, unorthodox drummer, his style is so hard to mimic and cover. He plays very funky and jazzy at the same time with those snares placed in very unusual places- he doesn't really play "a beat" per say, he's just always chattering underneath everything in an extremely unique way
Wow! Two days ago?? I had no idea they were still playing and still so good! I used to be a big fan, loved their live performances, saw them in concert about a dozen times. Eventually I lost that keen interest, but never the appreciation. Sorta stopped following their journey. Great to see them still pushing the boundaries of the Undiscovered Country, and using classics like Stash to do it. Makes me happy. Good job, guys. Thanks for still being there. Wow.
If you haven't seen them, I highly recommend checking out Trey's channel where videos were uploaded from his TAB no crowd shows from the Beacon last Oct. All of them are fantastic. They did 8 nights there with just the band, cameras and staff.

Was my buddies 1st show, he never really listened to phish but went with us. I think he only took a few grams on sat night and after the show we asked what he thought and he said he felt like it wasnt real and all he could really remember is people kept screaming about opposums hahah what a show.
The timing from all of them from this song has always just stood out to me as uniquely insane. We can discuss their hivemind improv capability for eternity, but something about Stash is just remarkably impressive

I’m not a big fan of their songs but they are by far the most incredible musicians that Ever Were! The amount of different songs they play on one of their tours is mind boggling! They can jam with the Greatest, absolutely amazing ✌️

It’s making the learning of Latin/World rhythms very enjoyable!

I am noticing the vocals on these recent tour clips sound hollow or echo-ish or something. I cant put my finger on it, but its almost like the vocals are more of an audio feed than a board feed or something. Could be they are just down more in the mix. Dont get me wrong, I am loving the jams and return, but its something I definitely am noticing.

You’re complaining about DC1 because they jammed out the songs too hard!? I was there all weekend, and Friday was insane. Sunday set 1 was the worst set of the weekend by a mile. Sunday Set 2 was a ton of fun, but nothing reached the heights of the Blaze On or Simple that you saw.

I myself wish for one set of long freestyle jams and the other of standard songs, many of which have jam built in. Just my opinion, so what. Are you JUDGING me and if so what qualifies you to do so? I haven't been able to see any shows for almost 15 years and I was hoping to hear a couple favorites. Come on at me like I don't have a right to my feelings. ✌🌹
