Hi
This movie just gave me newfound hope for Legend of Zelda movie
Nearly 60 years & 10 movies on, the Planet of the Apes franchise is still going strong.
Apes together, STRONG!
Apes together strong!
Ape together strong🫶
If you think about it, even though is nowhere near as popular
The Apes franchise (now 10 films in) has in total way better films than Star Wars which now has had 11 films in total
Truth.
Only eleven? I thought there was more.
“Apes on Horses” iykyk
😢 miss the good old friend Kristian
Raka was the stand out performance in this movie 😢
The Caesar trilogy is one of my favourites so was a bit nervous when this was first announced but all the reactions have me really looking forward to this new chapter. I hope it does well at the box office.
I was really looking forward to this review. This is my most anticipated film of the year and I can’t wait to see it!
There are too many action junkies, who just want nonstop action, and don’t have the patience to watch something like, Lawrence of Arabia for example. Maybe it’s the fast-paced city life that makes people this way, who knows, but if you don’t take the time to appreciate slower paced stories, then you’re missing out.
Totally agree
I love this movie, the way Noa slowly discovers things about Caesar and human history was so well done and is very reminiscent of Luke Skywalker's journey like how he was learning the history of the Jedi and the Empire's evil presence in the galaxy.
I loved that "Nova" was kind of clean...it was intriguing to see why and if there was a reason. Man, I loved this movie, bought tickets for tomorrow as soon as it was done
The score was outstanding... I felt it, like i felt the 68 score..
Seeing it tomorrow! Looking even more forward to it after your review
Love world building so if there is a lot of world building and character development in this, the better!! 👍👍
Knowing how much you were looking forward to this, it sounds like the movie was worth the wait. I have my tickets for Kingdom on Friday night.
did you enjoy it?
@bennhenderson7898 I absolutely loved it. I grew up watching Planet of the Apes since Heston's 1st movie in '68. Remakes don't often excite me, but this rebooted franchise seems to be getting better with each installment. How was your experience?
It was a great addition to the Ape franchise. It’s one of my favourite franchises, I love the original 5 movies, the live action tv series & the 3 reboot movies.
Great review Kristian!!!
So excited to see this next weekend it is my number one most anticipated surprisingly over deadpool and after hearing your take I know I'm going to love this.
I can’t wait. I love this series. I do wish they didn’t spoil that cool reveal about the main human girl in the trailers
Saw it last night, very enjoyable, a solid addition.
Seeing this soon, cannot wait! Looks like it’s tracking at over $150 million opening too!!
When I'd first got wind of Kingdom of the Planet of the apes was coming out It was a shocker because they ended the Ceaser trilogy off very much mesmerizing, captivating leaving u with questions and interpretation from War of the planet of the apes. Its Garner the masses to stay tuned. Of course, Franklin J Schaffner and Pierre Boulle POTA is one for the ages. Conquest being my favorite. The modern ones just elevate the storytelling, concepts and ik Kingdom from the review & your thoughts Kristian will have me liking it also. Cannot wait to see it.
You hit the nail on the head with this review. I loved it and can't wait for more. I was so invested in the ape story that I really didn't need any human interaction! I understand why it's there but for me if it had been left out I would have enjoyed it as much.
WHAT AH WONDERFUL DAAAY !!!
Important....Shit
I just came back from a Furiosa/Kingdom double feature. Kristian, I couldn"t agree more with everything you said, I really loved it. The franchise seems to be in good hands with Wes Ball.
Pretty excited to go see this with my dad, we've always loved these films.
I liked the movie, but didn’t quite love it because I thought it lacked something. The story and plot was very basic to me, especially for this franchise, where there is little surprise left to work with. I was waiting for an brow-raising turn that never came. I love this franchise so I enjoyed being back in this world, but after 7 years, it wasn’t the grandest return imo.
Sometimes people look at movies like these and think that it is an action movie,,, when this is more of a sci-fi drama… anyway, loved it
I also loved the trilogy, as well as the ones from the ‘60s. You had me as soon as you said you loved Godzilla Minus One. “This guy’s got good taste!” 😅
I had no idea William H Macey was in this. When he popped up it was a really pleasant surprise
Thank you because I'm so iffy on going to the movies these days with the price and loss in time. I think I'm going to go for it.
Really enjoyed seeing this movie on Friday! They put alot of story to this. As owning all 9 films on blueray and 4k blueray i thought it was very good
You really went bananas on this review
Ha!
I think I need to rewatch this movie when it streams. The air conditioning in the theater I watched it in wasn’t working, so don’t know if I fell asleep due to heat exhaustion or boredom. Raka was the best character for me.
For those of us sad about Raka, great news! I heard They teased he survived in the credits, hope it’s true 🤞
Glad to see owen teague getting more work, he was great as harold in the 2020 stand miniseries (even though the show itself wasnt that good)
I’m seeing it later and I’m so excited! When you talk about franchises, there are so many that have been made over the course of entertainment in its existence and planet of the apes is still one of the longest that has been around and it’s funny that this and Godzilla as one of the longest lasting franchises both had movies that came out this year and are probably going to do well. I am glad that the legacy for both is continuing strong, even as somebody who still hasn’t seen any of the old movies for either franchise.
How did you find the movie?
@@TF2ReplayMaker what do you mean how did I find the movie?
@@OrionInSpace as in what would you rate Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes? Out of 10
@@TF2ReplayMaker oh ok sorry I didn’t know what you were asking lol. Out of 10 I would honestly probably rate it around the same thing as I would have rated Rise of the Planet of the Apes. So out of 5 that’s a 4 and out of a 10 that’s roughly around between an 8 and 8.5 out of 10. Although I am inching closer to saying that it’s an 8.5 I didn’t really think that I needed this movie to be as good as the last two movies that we got. I just needed it to be able to be good enough to set up what we could get with a better film down the line like how the last trilogy went.
I enjoyed it but wasn’t really as moved as I was while watching Dawn and War. It was solid for sure but wasn’t as good as those. Excited for the series to continue!
Huge fan of this franchise starting with the 1968 original, really excited for it , loved the Ceasar story so I am looking forward to seeing Noah
Had tickets for Sunday, but Mom health took a turn. Heading to FL until Sunday, then Boulder. CO all week. I hope it stays in the AMC Cinema for the following weekend.
So sorry to hear this my friend. Hope she is ok!!!
@@TheKristianHarloff Brother, Father Time is undefeated and a cunt! No. My step dad just passed in February. I can’t tell you how you sharing your impact from your Brother’s passing and Rocha sharing how to try and deal with the “demons”….as I shared in NY that night…means more than I can even explain…you have no idea. Take care and be safe. Hug your family every day.
I already got tickets for Saturday evening
I mostly consume your UAP content but also want to see this picture as a big fan of the Apes series (I just found my nephew watching clips from the 1968 one, I told him it was one of the best movies ever made). From the trailers I have to agree the humans look too "clean"!
Did you give a rating? I just watched this whole video and now I can't remember. I'll assume it's near 5 Schmoes based on what you were saying. I love these movies, so I'm seeing this one in IMAX on Friday.
Do you have anything relationship with the old Planet Of The Apes movies? Pre-Tim Burton's?
I really believe Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have a vision for these films and that their continued involvement will ensure consistency no matter who else does the writing and directing. There's definitely enough material for 5 more movies and if they can pull that off more power to 'em
I loved this movie. A perfect continuation from where the original trilogy ended with great new characters and world building. Great review, Kristian
I was watching this and heard “staring Kevin Durant” and so I googled is Kd in the new planet of the apes and turns out it was a dude name Kevin Durand lol
war was with woody harelson not gary oldman he was in dawn haha
Agreed. Loved it
I was waiting for Mark to pop in and “Apes on Horses!”
Solid movie. 4/5 ❤ slow burn is real but worth it
I want to see this but I have not seen the previous ones, do I need previous knowledge to enjoy this one? But I can easily watch the 3 movies before this one, thanks
Yeah you probably should
Definitely VERY VERY important to the story to watch the first 3. Its how this all started!
Please do watch them first! You NEED context of the first trilogy.
This movie is absolutely amazing! Need to watch it again!
@@HaA-s I’ll start tonight than
@@Darthjarjar6619 yes!!
Good luck and have fun! 🙏🏽
Thanks!
Thank you!
WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY
God I love this franchise!!! I wish Disney will do a theme at animal kingdom
These recent Apes films are a perfect 4/4! Not a single bad film since! I think Kingdom might be the best one so far!
It was more of the same. So I think you're spot on, if people liked the first 3, they'll love this, etc.
Lol My biggest question is what the heck is going to be the title for the next film??
Wes Ball hasn’t missed yet.
I hope he isn’t trapped in Apes land and his studio finally gives him the green light to make his own passion project
MOUSE GUARD, come on! We need it!
he is going to make legend of zelda
@@cocopuffs1013 bummer. I’d prefer him do his own thing.
@@iansmart4158 to be fair he's a huge Zelda fan and wanted to direct a Zelda movie years ago, so it is a passion project of his
@@iansmart4158Zelda is a passion project for him
great vid....right eyebrow looks weird :D or is just me?
I thought it was powerful movie about Jesus, and how some will twist his words to suit their own purposes, but a faithful few will carry on the message of loving your neighbor and forgiving those who sin against you. And just like the movie says..."It's important."
Can't wait for him to direct the upcoming Zelda live action movie after watching this!
The movie was Great! They did an amazing job at setting up Noah as their new lead ape
I loved all the new apes movies and have the Blu rays
They are so good!
Is noa Caesar great great great great great great great grandson because he lookalike Caesar and does noa have Caesar birthmark?
I don’t think P.Ceasar is but Noa has green eyes so he might be. In the least he’s most likely descendant from the original apes that got the gas in Rise.
I don't know if it's because I missed this series , but I was enjoying every second of it . This is a damned good film.
Also, can’t seem to get to your Wishlist for the move. Do you have everything?
Hey bud!! I ddint post it here. Been posting on Big Thing. We are building! www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/MGDDPG7X6NW/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_2
@@TheKristianHarloff Got it. Will look today and see what I can get.
As always you are too kind.
@@TheKristianHarloff If you knew how you, Ellis, the key Collider crew (you know who), have helped me through tough times, you would know that any I can help with I will.
Holy shit man, did you just get the switch bundle for us?!
I thought the film was okay. I don't mind slow burn films but when a slow burn film has a runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes it will loose its audience. Slow burn films should have a 2 hour cap.
2:42 This was one of my biggest concerns immediately from looking at the trailer. She just doesn't look right and it makes me feel like the story isn't going to be good.
Story is good.
Y’all keep saying Kevin I thought it was the basketball player I was like he does voice acting Lol but I googled it and that actors last name is Durand it sounds like he saying Durant lol
My biggest nitpick is the cheesy acting from the “apes”. Story writing was great.
Movie plays with religious themes as well. One of the most important parts in my opinion. Such an emotional, impactful and it’s so thoughtful and respectful to the previous trilogy. I absolutely loved this film.
Absolutely loved the movie!!
I loved it
Did I somehow totally miss his score for this movie? 😅
5 more movies .cant wait for austraunts to come back in movie 7
Can we have a spoiler video on this?
...did he say that Kevin Durant should play Darth Bane?
Yes 10 years ago, he would have been perfect. www.imdb.com/name/nm0243806/
is it odd that I liked the performance of the antagonists more than the protagonists?
I love rise, 9 out of 10 for me and i love maze runner 9 out of 10. Dawn and war were 8 out of ten. Im watching because wes ball directs. Otherwise i wouldnt watch. Maze runner is one ofy favorite sci fi trilogies it made 1 billion worlwide
They wouldn’t let the director do dirty dirty human portrayal
That ending pissed me off. Now what they gonna end the world again?this movie just proved how manipulative and no good disgusting humans can be,Noa should learn moving forward never trust humans again
Like this if it’s a wonderful day
War is still my favorite i know a lot of people hate that movie
I don't understands how people would hate that movie.
Gary Goldman wasn't in war bro 🤣
Ah shit you are right. He was in Dawn
First 🥇
Wish the Transformers flms were 95% and 5% human interaction. Sounds like Kingdom of the Apes is good
Could I go into this movie without seeing the other ones?
Yes
Noah is so Luke
Didn't know Kevin Darunt was in this Movie ! Wait Kevin Darunt the basketball player???
Kevin Durand, the actor, is not the basketball player. He didn't quite pronounce it right, lol!
@@fgstech4857 Aw Ok 🤣. I Get It !
At nearly 2 meter tall, Kevin Durand can be a basketball player had he not became an actor.
I hope the astronauts are in it
I’m really tired of seeing Karen leads! It’s ridiculous.
Noahs dad dies
The movie was ass, why tf is Noah ? The director should’ve kept the story alive by making Cesar son the star like it was suppose to be
You’ve never seen the Witcher ??? And your a movie buff or whatever !!! Wow no you’re not !!!
This got be the most dislikable protsgonist i have seen especially that girl snd noa who goes against his own people proximus cesar was the hero in this movie and they better not killed him off.
I really enjoyed it got me teary eyed a few times but the one thing that I was kinda effy on and this is a *SPOILER* (look away)..........,.......................................................................................................................................................................................................... but the fault dewler humans and that's ig the reason why there not dumb felt like an easy cheat to have smart humans idk maybe I would have just preferred only her being smart
