After playing Warp Coven and a few compendium teams for the last year, I played my first game with Novitiates today. Had a very solid turn 2 victory against Legionaries on mission 3.3 from the Core book. Kept the Duelist and Reliquarius on the bench. Experience so far is pretty much the same as you are describing. What stood out to me while playing: - I had an auto-chastiser on the Condemnor as well, really liked that. - Two icons of faith is on my list to try. - Frag might be nice, next to krak, if just for doing some chip damage to concealed enemies. - Whip lady is great to have around the lower mid-field dishing out extra APL to whoever needs it. 8:40ish, the syndrome you are referring to is Feelsbad, man. It’s the way people feel about having their good result stolen from them by rules, especially ones they didn’t anticipate. It’s common among games where dice or outcomes can be modded.

@@TabletopImpulse My two biggest take aways: 1. I didn’t understand and was not using Blinding Aura at all. By the emperor whats game changer. 2. I wasn’t taking the two purgatus because of their lack of range. Tried them out last night, and thanks to your tips they melted a necron overlord to slag with ease. I swapped out my medic and my reliquarious. I’ve found that the medic is never close enough to support the melee units who are most effective when they range with a +1 apl and tie up key units in melee. I’ve gotten a lot of use out of the reliquarious, planting her icon in the center cpt. point and holding on turn 3 or 4 to steal a VP. However I will admit burning people to a crisp when they get close is better and more satisfying than just hiding and shooting a pistol. My friend group also thanks you. I didn’t know about faith points for specialist kills was narrative only and they were ecstatic to learn that. Thank you again for your detailed work my friend. You deserve every like and subscriber.
Icon of Faith on the Penitent? Auto take + with the Condemnor too. You can have 2 you know ;) Penitent has a krak grenade and a free auto crit is always welcome ;) This is how you one shot a Warpcoven sorc.
54:15 I would disagree with you there Mr. T. Retaining multiple crits means multiple MW2's. P1 is a given after the 1st crit. but this is how you can basically 1 shot a marine. Add on to her icon of faith and you dont even have to spend FP to get a crit. Anything with 10 wounds or less I instakill with the Condemnor. Lover Her ;)

Each time a friendly operative makes a shooting attack with this weapon, in the roll attack dice step of that shooting attack, for each critical hit retained, inflict x mortal wounds on the target. x is the number after the weapon's MW, e.g. MW3.

Final thoughts: Novies are awesome and the haters need to cope. Thats all. They haven't been crying about Harlies nor commandos for half a year, so they have no excuse. Get bent whiners 😎😎😎
@@majortom7186 Maybe but after what the "community" had done to custodes in a short amount of time, the many months the Kommandos and the Harlies were let to terrorize KT events (Kommandos were the top4, each undefeated in a past Warhammer World event) leaves no room for the these people complain. All they have left is to cope and shush.
1:00:30 you shouldn't put it on the Condemnor since you will only get FP back when the model STRIKES with a crit. And striking always happens in melee.
I thought the penitent was a powerful melee character, so i charged her into the leader of a deathguard with power fist my friend was playing, I landed a crit, he landed a crit and killed me, he shrugged 2 damage and just took 4 so still having a lot of wounds left, she flooped hard for me (and my superior had an even sadder end than that, I was massacared that game).
Could you please rank those 5 novitiates from best to worst? Dialogus, Duelist, Reliquarius, Preceptor, Militant sword . I have place for 2 - but somehow I'm not convinced about any of the 5 mentioned to be worthy, so need to know what the ranking would be.
Dialogus, Preceptor, Duelist, Reliquarius, Militant Sword I would say, - The Dialogus and the Precepter are definitely the two I would take. +1 APL is definitely important, especially if you happen to play into the dark. Reliquarius has an ok Melee ability but also Unflinching Determination is a great ability.
@@TabletopImpulse Thanks! KT21 calculator shows that Duelist deals slightly more damage than Preceptor in close combat, while having a shooting weapon. Is stun or her ability good in practice? Reliquarius sucks so everybody agrees on that but I don't understand why Dialogus is considered goog. Relatively good I might add because IMHO all 5 SUCK. Nowhere near Purgatus or Condemnder, even vanilla SoB.
So, the Dialogus is considered good because being able to have two models with APL3 really helps when it comes to scoring Loot or Capture, you have two models that can potentally move dash and score in the first turning point, or in into the dark you have two models that can potentally move dash and open a door. Meanwhile for the the Preceptor for me it's the Unflinching Determination always on defensive aura that makes he worthwhile. You don't loose much offensive power compared to the Duelist but you gain a great defensive buff.@@motokokusanagi1172

@@TabletopImpulse One more question please - what about my regular Sisters sergeant (Ecclesiarchy) - what do I glue combimelta or plasma pistol (will never overload as I don't like gambling)? Moreover is it much less optimal if I do both gunners as melta while most of you do 1 melta and 1 storm bolter or even 2 stormbolters for "horde" teams? I feel like this is a Huge waste to take a special weapon with pathetic 3/4 output damage.

An awful lot of people have been whinging very loudly about Harlequins for a while now, but otherwise yes.

Ah, yes. Someone pointed that out, and I stopped doing it, and then I forgot why I stopped doing it.

Hi man, I would not call myself a pro player, but yes it is still 2x fights for 1 APL.
