I only have 1 D4H left, they are great little machines if you get one in the mid 90's, they don't have a lot of computer on them and are pretty simple to work on. Parts availability on Caterpillar machines is simply the best in my area, John deere and other brands quit even offering parts after they're 15 years old and I normally don't buy a machine until it has some age on it so by the time i start working on them the parts are hard to get......
Great video, yeah gotta know how hard it's going to be to get parts when your dealing with older machines, otherwise you'll be stuck with scrap metal. Cat seems to have the best parts network that i've been around, maybe deere or komatsu but also depends on what part of the country your in, some areas just prefer different brands. Keep up the great videos!
Its like any old tractor at some point you end up making your own parts... the same goes for industrial equipment too, the company I work for supports sorting machines, and we have to have parts made for existing equipment that the company that originally made it no longer exists, like drive chains and such. The cost to maintain a tracked machine is high any way you look at it.
Day before yesterday I blew a hydraulic line on My 750 Deere...well The Deere dealer didn't have the fittings in stock...Was going to be 3 days...But guess what? The Cat dealer Had all the fittings hose and hose sheathing to make the 4 hoses I replaced..They were in a bad spot to get to so I replaced all of them while I was there..Dealer network all the way!!!
thanks man. i have never operated a d4h before. i have always like cat, but i have heard good things and bad about both cat and case. the only problem with case is the dealer is over an hour away and the cat dealer is about 30 minutes. my boss has operated both and talks highly of the d4. i'm looking for something affordable and be able to work on it.
It's one of the best if not the best finishing tractor i've ever been on

I posted a video of towing it
Great job on the loading. You even placed it correctly on the trailer. Too many dumbasses load a pickup like its a semi.
vid of driving??
Use used tires next time.
Won't ruin your trailer and won't slide if wet.

never send a Ford to do a Chevy's job.
What a laugh that garbage is.
Chevy can’t do what dodge and ford does
Chevy can't do that aswell
