As a bus driver !! This is 100% our reality!! I’m not in LA but Orange County.. and we get attacked all the time but no one bats an eye!! We are people too!! We are just there to make our money to support our families…

@@rockon8174 no the one time i was attacked it was a mentally ill guy who escaped the 51/50 hospital and he tried to pull me out the window, the rest are all sexual assaults.. my coworker had a gun pulled on her because two passengers were fighting and he told her to keep driving

I recently traveled to Japan. I didn't have a vehicle so I used their transit system a lot. It's super safe. It's super secure. There are freaking cops everywhere. Cops are at entry points, cops are on the train, cops cops cops. And they verify that every person that boards has paid the fare. If you cause a disturbance on their transit system, you're going to jail. They just don't put up with it. Zero tolerance.

these are concerns you need to bring to your Union Meetings. After all, you operators vote for the chairman and other officers. You shouldn't be in danger for helping the community get around in the city safely. How can an operator drive people to their destination if they worried about getting attacked themselves.

I was randomly sucker punched by a crazy homeless man on the subway. The force knocked me to the floor. I ran out the car just when police happened to be patrolling the station. I told them what happened and pointed to the attacker who also exited the car. They let him go even without even talking to him though he was still yelling and cursing at me because they didn't see it happen. And they treated me very rudely, like I was making a big deal out of nothing!

    • @lisapozo9666

Metro cops do almost nothing but laugh at victims of random crimes all day. Sorry that happened to you. The subway is worse than the bus lines, and I had to defend passengers and the driver from a perp with an expired canister of pepper spray. Not my job really. But cops don't care. Or they just aren't there. You gotta buddy up to ride. Safe travels to you. I sincerely hope you heal mentally and physically.

@metrolosangeles Fired me for calling in sick without a warning. Even when I was attacked on my bus as an employee and a man had a seizure on my bus instill continued my job and route but was unfairly let go without a fair chance. This job and company do not care about their employees. I was harshly told to leave the office and was not given a chance even though I had doctors notes and I paid union fees!

Metro, has a great PR department, to give great lip service. It's all crap! There should be security on every bus!! They let anybody on, and that includes a lot of mentally ill, and nefarious types! Even though they had to build an adjoining Sheriff's station, Willowbrook is the wild, wild west. SO MANY train stations are ancient, filthy, and all the elevators smell strongly of pee pee.

Metro is HORRIBLE. My Dear friend and family works for them. They have been assaulted, bus has been shot up, nude people, people having sex, etc. They can't take normal breaks, restroom breaks nor lunch; my friend has developed health issues because of this. Her buses have had roach and other bug infestations. Rarely is the Police/Metro security on board. Yet Metro got nice new bathrooms for customers and concerned about customer safety. Horrible employer for this and other scheduling issues
