I’m white but my girlfriend is black and I wanted to learn how to do a bunch of hairstyles so I could help her out since she always talks about how expensive braiders were. Plus, that gives us another thing to do together apart from hair wash days (we both have curly hair so we both take up at let half a day to get it all done)
@@Alysaah she likes locs, that’s for sure. The ones I’ve heard her mention are butterfly locs and just plain old locs (idk if they have a name except for just locs), but yeah, I’ll ask her when she gets home from work :)

She’s definitely more on the masc side and from things she’s shown me, locs, cornrows or just the kind of natural Afro she has seems to be her favourite
I guess I feel like Blk people that can’t dance when it comes to braiding hair because I don’t understand the finger work. It’s frustrating being a Black woman that can’t cornrow! 😔
I’m African American and no shade everytime i do cornrows I can only do it on my textured hair. Idk why it be so hard to do it on loose textured hair , hair just be flying everywhere 😭😩
So you’re also splitting up that middle section too?? I know how to braid. But I am self taught. I do my daughters hair. But you’re splitting the middle strand too as you braid??
Ugh it’s so controlled and idk I struggle with the end of the braid like where the scalp ends and it’s a plat now. At the end of the scalp my braid is always lifted a little bit. Not as flush with the scalp. I can’t seem to get that down.
I enjoyed it but the gum was annoying since someone chewing irritates me andit good to learn how to braid I've been wanting to braid my mom's hair for free
