Awesome fix just got my first ebike and heard a rattle on big bumps and thought it was the headset . Did the felt on the battery and rattle is gone . Probably better for the battery and connections as well . Thanks to you for this great idea .
My XP2 is on its way to me... Slowly but surely. Thanks again for all your awesome videos and tips, Chris! Feeling much more confident in my ability to maintain and even upgrade my first ebike thanks to them.
@@SonsOfJupiter Are you happy with your purchase now that you have your bike? Is it what you thought it was going to be as far as quality and comfort? Did you happen to get the comfort package? (Sorry for all the questions - I won't bug you anymore)
@@RelivitMedia I'm very happy with it! I commute up to 10 miles a day round trip on it and have very few complaints. Quality is quite good especially for the aggressive price point they offer, motor is strong but not overwhelming or dangerous like some high power ebikes feel. The 3" tires really soak up a lot and the hybrid tread does a surprisingly good job for basic off-road. The stock seat isn't great, but it's acceptable for rides of a few miles at a time if you don't mind the stiffness. I did order the comfort package but it has yet to arrive, have heard great things about it!
Great tip Chis. My Lectric XP 2.0 developed this annoying rattle after about 1400 miles. It took me a long time to figure out where it was coming from. When I finally discovered that it was coming from the battery, I fixed it using a similar method to the one demonstrated in your video. The rattle went away and peace and quiet returned. Thanks much for your excellent channel.
Thank Mark! You all are such a great community sharing issues and tips with me and in turn I can help spread the word. The whole goal of this channel is to keep you riding! I'm glad you got yours fixed 👍
Another excellent tip Chris ! Haven't had any rattles on mine yet. But good to know this will work. Thanks for sharing. BTW, I ordered the blue spoke wrench you recommended and it just got delivered today. Thanks again
Thanks! Not all bikes will need this, though I have heard of some folk's batteries start to rattle after many miles. Also, hang on to that little spoke tool, it's very useful! 👍
I have multiple batteries (x4 with 2 bikes), could this work inside the chamber instead of on each battery? What material sticks to steel the best>? Cheers. :)
Hi, thanks for the video. I haven't received mine yet. Is this something that I will expect to have to do? It's kinda making me regret ordering one, along with the noisy fenders I've heard about. It's beginning to sound like a piece of junk.

I guess I'll be opening my new bike after all I'll be getting it Monday. Already thinking about getting a bigger battery to put on the rack to raise up my saddle bags in the back they're going to be close to the ground anyway
I did the BMX handle bars last week, and holy moely it's night and day. I can ride one handed with ease and without any worries about stability. Riding one handed with the stock bars is almost suicidal. As PWP said, "It's a pretty sweet set up."
I have two bikes the regular black & the white step through...we do not have this problem at all ??? Both batteries are nice & snug no rattle what do ever.
Mine actually broke off a portion of the raised black lip on the top of the battery...That's how much rattle mine had. Only Two-Hundred miles and the battery was never removed.
I need help just received my Lectric xp 3.0 and when pedaling my pas keeps cutting in and out then stop working. I turn off the bike then turned it back on and it starts working again, then back to cutting in and out. I know I will call the company when they reopen on Monday but seeing if anyone knows what’s going on.
@@PedalWithPower I meant the little metal tab that moves in and out.I thought putting the tape on the bottom would raise the battery a tad higher and interfere with the hole in the frame and that little metal tab from aligning up.
@@Elisplushies360woodierc The felt tape is pretty thin. Just enough to keep it from rattling. My battery fit back in just fine. It did not interfere with the locking pin.

Sir my battery got stuck in there. What tool can I use to remove it from the battery chamber?

Hi Lucas. Did you get your XP 2.0 yet? How long did it take to arrive after you ordered?
@@RelivitMedia Sure did! Took about 10 days from order to arrival.

Just another in a long line of incredibly helpful tips. Could you now do a video on preventing your battery from ever running out of juice?
Thanks John, I do have an idea for a solar charger trailer I'm working on, so you can ride indefinitely. It's just not in my budget yet. Stay tuned!
@@PedalWithPower Can't wait!
Thank you! I definitely feel a rattle with I go over 20 mph. Thanks for the trick
Thank you! Quick fix!
Does the felt act as a battery heat dissipation barrier when conducting heat to the frame?
A little, but not enough to worry about.
Well timed videos as always Chris. You mentioned you work at a bike shop, you a tech there?
Thanks, and yes I've been a bike mechanic for over 20 years.
Just got mine a few days ago and was gonna go on a ride today.
Rattles are one of my pet peeves. Won't ride it until I get it fixed

Hello can you charge the battery while it’s removed ? Charger connected directly to Battery from outlet(wall) ? Thank you

Thanks Darrel, not every bike needs this. Mine didn't. I have just had some folks asking about this issue. Easy Fix!
I have two of these bikes not a issue with our bikes at all....
I got one this week. Love it!! No noise from either the battery or fenders.
Hoping you folks are right. I guess time will tell, once I get it.

Maybe unrelated question but does running with the lights on to be visible to others have any significant power drain on the battery?

By the way, I'm thinking of doing the BMX handlebar customization to my 2.0, having grown up in the 80s it's a little nostalgic. lol
It's a pretty sweet set up with the BMX bars. Just keep your stem lowered or you'll run out of cable length.

Thanks Jim, good to know. Mine was fine also, but I've been asked about this from others. Some bikes rattle, some don't.
Felt tape is a great idea - I was sticking wads of paper in there like a chump. Probably unsafe but I'm still kicking lol
That works too!

Installing on bottom I thought would make issues for the lock going in and out of the hole on the frame.I guess not.
Good call, but you'll notice, I just coved the silver part. Don't cover the lock. 👍
