Looks and sounds awesome, Hours of riding to be done on that little gem of a bike.

That footage was worth it for the sound alone, gorgeous. I wish mine started so quickly! Nice looking Guzzi Mr B. Can't wait to see some ride along.
Mine no longer appears to be leaking despite appearing to after cleaning the breather, it must have been residual oil in the hub because the service centre cleand it all out as they didn't have the time/parts to hand to replace the seal (it was only booked in for an MOT and I asked them to do the valves while it was there). Rode it home 30 miles, and did a further 30 yesterday and its fine so far.

That is good news for you. The fact that mine starts so quickly might mean that it a bit rich on the pilot jet. The sound is lovely but it is VERY loud!

So your bike runs again ! Do you have an airfilter ? Or the K&N like open filters (mine has). I woudl have preferd the original plastic filter house, it is still obtainable 2nd hand, but not easy to install and the space to do something is limited (for your hands) to screw on the bike.
Mine doesnt start as swift as yours does ! 😭 while my valve clearance is ok, oil ok, carburettors ultrasoon cleaned, new spark plugs etc. It is still a nightmare to start. I wonder why
I got the longer type lafranconi's. The chrome ones. Ok sound. Im thinking of hanging a pair of panniers on the side. Some racks did exist in the past. Ill visit some 2nd Guzzi-shops here in NL. There are a few of them

Check the main jet size, if you have k&n then it should be a bigger size as the air flow is greater. But not too big. I think standard is 115 so try 120, also fuel air mixture screw.
Mine takes a few turns to start if petrol has been turned off for a few days and carbs are empty. Main jet is for running not starting but it seems to affect overall.

@@MrBillgiles thank you, Ill look into it next week, and I will let you know when it starts better, rubbers replaced as well. I dont recall the jet sizes anymore... Ill write them down somewhere !

Congrats on getting your V65 on and running. Sounds great! I just got my '84 V65 sp going as well but am having trans oil blowing out of the breather port on the top of the block. Have you had any issues with that yourself, Bill? These are fun bikes for sure. God bless ~

Hi Dave, how much oil do you have in the gearbox? Maybe drain it out and put back the correct amount which I think is 900cc. I seem to remember some-one doing a mod by removing the breather and replacing it with a 1/2 inch ID breather pipe that went up under the tank so that any blow out would be held in the pipe and return once pressure drops. But I can't really understand how excessive pressure would build in there in the first place. Good luck and let me know if you hit on a solution.

@@MrBillgiles Thanks for taking the time to respond, Bill. I do believe the problem is an over-filled gearbox (I opened the the level plug and let the excess ooze its way out over 30 minutes onto am absorbent towel)... I really like the idea of a breather tube mod as you suggested. If I'm still experiencing oil loss out of the breather opening I'm going to make the modification suggested... that should hopefully do it. Thanks again... praying you have many safe miles of smooth riding on your sweet V65.

@@davemccament1560 Dave, as far as I know that is not a level plug, it is just a filler plug and I wouldn't be too confident that it gives you the correct amount.

@@MrBillgiles You nailed it, Bill! I reread my owners manual and it says to make certain the oil level is maintained "near the bottom of the filler hole" ~ opps! I overfilled it enough to cause the excess oil excretion. Thank you, kind sir!
