Abram Treadwell start moving towards it. Vai has always said talent can only take you so far, once you start educating yourself and Inspeak from experience, it opens up a whole new world. You can do it man! I still started taking lessons again after touring and playing for over 30 years. Guitar is never ending

don't get me wrong. i have massive respect for him and love his music. he just bugs me some times.

Vai's a great composer and musician, and no one knows it better than him.
At this level of playing guitar, there must be a lot of work, perseverance and abilities so… And Steve studied Music, it helps for the extreme precision of an interpretation of a classical part for exemple. The harp is a very beautiful instrument, so clear and delicate in the sounds. I would have liked to know how to play.

he is an amazing musician, he is also a massive show off who loves him self a bit too much. he has been that way for ever. that said, if he wasn't that way he wouldn't of done all the things he has done. thats as the thing that makes him strive for perfection.
on the other hand joe satriani (who tought steve vai) is 10 times the musician and infanatly moore humble
@TheReilly8 It's fairly safe to say that he's exceptionally musically talented. Although it does take one to know one, and I certainly am not one.

i dont get why steve is being flamed here. when mozart wrote his first sonata he was 6-7 yrs old, he must have had the same epiphanies that steve had as a kid. the interview IS about steve, and HIS creative thinking, which he is explaining. where's the showboating everyone' accusing him of?
Well, the interview is about him right?
Put that thought into action, buddy!!! Take a class or go online and look up what's available to help you. It seems daunting but it's a rewarding experience. I'm sure there's some youtube videos to help. Best of luck to you!!!

Satriani and via are friends from the very beginning, satriani teaches via to play guitar, satriani composes some of the best instrumental music on earth; via fills in for bad 80s hair bands. Satriani is down to earth, open minded and honest about his beginnings and his abilities, via thinks he is a musical god and thinks he created music. Such opposites!
