      Hey nice video. The sound is really quiet - especially compared to other videos. Hopefully you can turn up the volume when recording.

    This is a very enjoyable and informative video with a great voice-over that is clear and easily understood. I certainly am looking forward to your "mystery " video and can't imagine what it could be about. This is an excellent presentation, well done 👏 👍

    Great vid as always explaining whats happening on the Bankstown Line! Keep up the good work and hopefully the metro city to Sydnenham would open on August 4th, hope to see your vid for the opening. I do think that it would be hard for commuters travelling on the Bankstown line having to take the Southwest link replacement bus. It is also annoying that the metro would only go up to bankstown and commuters would have to change to the T6 shuttle, the government could've extended the line to Regents park or Sefton to meet up with the T3 line. I have felt like that the extension of the metro to Bankstown could've opened at the same time as the extension to Sydenham rather than 2025.

    • @TomHommus
      @TomHommus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It couldn't because of the unions (RBTU, ETU) which did strikes to block progress on the metro because it's driverless.
      No drivers means less union members that's why they're doing it. And again now for the current one the firies union they're trying to delay 4th August.
      So if you wonder why your line is a year late you know who to blame

      I think the T6 is only a shuttle because they need some people to still take the flashy new metro

    Great vid. Crazy it's still a 12mth shutdown when they've done so much of the work already including new lifts, fences and the gap fillers.
    As I understand it the plaza at Bankstown will be public access so you'll have to exit the gates, then cross the plaza, then tap back in.

    If I was the government, Sydney metro sputhwest would be going all the way out to Aerotropolis via Liverpool (exsisting T3/Leppington Line alignment) and then a short extension to an interchange with the Western Sydney airport metro at aerotropolis. Also I would be merging the Western Sydney airport metro with metro west with a new section of track between st Mary’s and Westmead bringing the two lines into one, by using the metro to run alongside the M4. And also extending the northwest metro from Tallawong one stop west to Scholfields. That would be my plan for Sydney metro.

    • @shanojebs
      @shanojebs หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@electro_sykes this was the original plan but the government scrapped it in favour of extending the Parramatta light rail and completing the airport metro from St Marys, it'll come but there's a lot of time and money before that happens

      Do you realise that the Bankstown line will lose 10,000 seats over the peak period. Also there is no saving in time from Bankstown to Central from what we have now to the Metro service.

    • @deanl4575
      @deanl4575 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@waynegodfrey6468Do you also realise that the all stops metro service will actually be faster than the current fastest express service? The metro will take 28 minutes compared to the absolute fastest at the moment of about 34 minutes. That only happens every 30 minutes too since it’s the Liverpool train. Plus, if you’re trying to get to one of the stops skipped by express trains, the express patterns are so confusing to understand - i.e. you want to go from Bankstown to Punchbowl or Campsie or Dulwich Hill.

  • @TomHommus

    The fence installation I believe goes through the entire line it's to separate the metro and the train lines similar to Chatswood etc.
    No gap fillers at Wiley park as it's dead straight
    Bankstown station shortening I believe is a shortening on the eastern end and extension towards the western end. Where does it say it won't be 8 car trains?

    With the new platforms at Bankstown, I wonder how they’ll be able to extend the line to Liverpool because the space seems constrained and the plaza may block the line from being extended if it’ll ever happen.

      It's temporary I believe so when the line gets extended it'll go. That's why the build quality doesn't look too great compared to the rest of the new platforms.

    At Bankstown the metro has two side platforms, but I have noticed that the distance between the two tracks gets wider. I wonder if thats for when they eventually extend the metro to Liverpool, that a tunnel portal is built there that lead to further new underground platforms at Bankstown.

    • @JayJayGamerOfficial
      @JayJayGamerOfficial 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@utareangara5529 it's more so to take the T3 trains out of the city circle in order to allow more trains to operate on the T2 and T8 lines. It is impossible to increase frequency currently due to the track going through most of the city circle only being a single 2 way connection sharing 3 lines. the 3 lines at max capacity can only have a frequency of 7 or so minutes which is due to the gap between trains being as short as 1-2 minutes going through the city circle. Removing T3 trains from the city circle allows T2 and T8 frequencies to be improved to as low as 4-5 minutes. I know T3 will still be operating in the city circle but the new alignment is essentially a T2 duplication to Liverpool that strays off at Lidcombe to Cabramatta.
