Sit back and relax as we take you on a weekend away to a spectacular place. This getaway has so much to offer, including sandy beaches, Mangroves and sand dunes.
Both sides of the Island are accessible by 4WD and the beaches can be traversed with care.
The timing for our visit was perfect as there were very few people around, especially on the Eastern side which requires a 4WD for access.
We camped on the island after taking a trip on the ferry and, on arrival, we had plenty of space to explore this beautiful destination.
This allowed, largely uninterrupted filming sessions.
Moreton Island is a sub-tropical paradise that is home to an array of fascinating birds including Shorebirds, Seabirds and Birds of prey.
This film is an account of some of the birds that we observed, along with the places that they call home.
Enjoy and your comments are always well received.

Great to hear. Lots more to come !
Stunning thank you so much for your efforts to share 💕💕💕
Thanks so much. It is a great destination.
I wonder how the Beach Stone Curlews decide which crab their going to eat out of the hundreds. Great video Tim
😂worth a study , Steve !
Wow.... What a spectacular video. Looked like a great trip. So many people in brisbane are ignorant of what is on their door step. The same can be said about the fantastic dive sites of the bay as well. 🤔😎🇦🇺👌
Thankyou for your kind words and agree with your sentiments. These places are becoming increasingly rare with all the development.
@@TimSiggs not wrong.. don't get me started on toondah harbour. 🤔🤨🇦🇺👌
@@rodmills4071 the very same people who claim their green credentials plan on importing 2.2 million more residents by 2046.
Another great production Tim, well done mate. I'm yet to visit Moreton Island but am really looking forward to it. I've never seen White-bellied Sea Eagles on the ground before, or even in pairs for that matter. Very entertaining little film, thanks for sharing your passion with us. Cheers Phil
Thanks so much Phil. I have had this one on the timeline for a while but it took much longer than expected in terms of readiness and final details. Moreton is a wonderful location.
Luv your videos beautifully done in a birdwatcher fr9m way back❤😊
Thanks so much for your support
Another cracking video compilation Tim. Amazing shots of the Beach Stone Curlews with young. I've been rapt the few occasions I've fortunately seen them. Cheers, Richard
Thanks Richard. Loved this trip mate.
Beautiful work, thank you for sharing.
Very much appreciated.
Incredible footage and commentary Tim!
Nice to have you on board!
Heading to Moreton Island soon and happened upon your video. Great footage, interesting commentary and pleasing background music. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it! You will love it there. thanks,
Beautifully captured and narrated Tim. Will be there for a day trip in Dec! Sadly it will just be several hours. Any tips on parts of the island to visit to maximise seeing birdlife? Cheers, John
Thanks so much, you will love it. A few hours will go quickly. Beach ( Eastern side 4WD) is good for Raptors and seabirds. Western side is good for Mangrove species.
@@TimSiggs Thanks Tim, stopping by on a cruise and not a dedicated outing unfortunately! Thanks for the tips much appreciated!
Thanks for your photography. Does this island have dingoes like K'gari has?
I am not aware of any here. Certainly not like K'gari.
No it doesn't
Hello! I would like to ask what time of day did you find most optimal to go for birding at moreton island?
I visited in the cooler months and birding is good all day long. Tides can play a part though and an outgoing tide can be good for raptors and shorebirds.
Moreton Island is paradise except for that smelly Tangalooma resort.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Awesome Tim , did you catch any fish for dinner.
Not this time. Too much time birding.
Thanks heaps.
