    My brother has the 2021 Model. I had the opportunity to perform full service on his bike recently and I must say that these are an absolute pleasure to work on. Everything is brutally simple, parts such as BB, headset bearings are all widely available at local bike shop and extremely easy to service and maintain. If you look after this, it will last well in excess of 10 years, maybe even 20. The only thing I don’t like from a design standpoint is how the rear hub spacing is 141 Boost QR. it doesn’t need to be this way and finding a new wheel for it would be much easier if it was 135 Standard Spacing. That being said, at the moment it’s still relatively easy to get 141 Boost QR wheels because Trek is using them prolifically on their entry level MTBs

      Nice! I think they have made a few small changes, but I can't remember exactly what they are. The suspension and drivetrain is the exact same though from memory. Have fun with your new bike!

    I think this bike is good because it has 2x which give more gear ratio in the climbing and descending, rather than 1x which give only 32÷42 =1.31 on climbing, or what do you say

    • @MotionMTB
      @MotionMTB  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I personally prefer 1x systems, and there is a lot of overlap in the gears on 2x and 3x drivetrains. My 1x12 drivetrain could actually go faster than this 2x10 drivetrain, if that helps you make up your mind. It's really up to you, but a lot of people do prefer the 1x drivetrain as it provides more clearance underneath the bike, is a lot more simple, and less likely to break.

    Hey, just want to commend you for creating a nice review for this bike! I also want to ask a few things. I'm saving up for a new bike that is intended for both trails and long rides. I want a bike that I can settle in for years by just upgrading a few parts here and there without changing the frame. I plan to learn different levels of trail riding. With that, I have been considering the Xtrada 5 and 6. Considering that the Xtrada 5 has a 2x setup, can you still recommend it for trails? I personally find it as too much clutter and would just consider having a 1x setup. My only concern is that going from the 5 to 6 has a bit of a jump in price. Also, is having a 2x setup tedious with regards to maintenance?

    • @MotionMTB
      @MotionMTB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks so much! Most decent bikes nowadays should be able to last for a couple years without upgrading anything, other than the usual maintenance like tires, grips, chain etc. as long as you take decent care of them. If you are planning on riding on trails and progressing into harder ones, than I would probably get the Xtrada 6 of that is within your budget, as I think the forks and especially 1x will make riding it feel a lot better. The 2x system shouldn't provide too much more of a maintenance problem, however you will obviously need to adjust it from time to time, and it is another component that can break. I hope this answers all of your questions and feel free to ask me any more that you might have. Thanks again and goodluck with whatever bike you end up getting!

    Deciding between this bike or hybrid not sure which one to get as I'm getting in the mountain biking 50% road 50% light trail maybe get into some harder trail as I go but I can buy the 2023 model now for 600 bucks Canadian even though it's not from a local shop

    • @MotionMTB
      @MotionMTB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would probably get the 6 for the 1x drivetrain and air fork. I did make a review on the bike which is here: th-cam.com/video/siU6_heZJVw/w-d-xo.html

  • @agmgrgvlogs
    @agmgrgvlogs ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How many parts we can upgrade in xtrada 5 to make more stronger ???????

    • @MotionMTB
      @MotionMTB  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On a bike you can upgrade almost any component on it. So really it is up to you what you upgrade, however if you want to drastically improve the ride experience you might consider upgrading the fork and drivetrain. If you just want to upgrade the small things you could upgrade the grips, pedals, or seat to improve the riding experience. I hope this helps and thanks for commenting! Let me know if you have anymore questions.

    Where is location for some of your trail shoots? I am thinking of getting my 14 yo in MTB and those trails look decent enough to start on without excessive risk/getting hurt that might turn him off it.

      All the riding clips were pretty much filmed in Sydney on this track between Cheltenham and Epping. If you look on Trail Forks it’s called the Day Road Fire Trail but we also filmed on some of the other connecting trails. You can get to it from the end of Day Road in Cheltenham. There was another entry of one of the paved bike tracks around there as well. It was the first track I did when I got my bike as well it was a really good difficulty for a beginner. Wishing all the best for your son!

    hey, do you know any good bike dual suspension or hardtail with air suspension for under 1k cause im trying to find a bike like that that i can hit BIG jumps with but also good for a long ride with gears?

    • @MotionMTB
      @MotionMTB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There won't really be any good dual suspension bikes under $1000 so I would recommend getting a hardtail. However if you are having trouble deciding here is my video that compares hardtails to dual suspensions: th-cam.com/video/Dqsr3ehW_rg/w-d-xo.html
      I would also look at a website like this: www.switchbacktravel.com/best-mountain-bikes-under-1000 to see what the options are for a good mountain bike under $1000 are. I hope this answers your question and feel free to let me know if you have any more.
