This LEC will teach you how to configure various settings, such as serial port, baud rate, and parity. After this LEC, you will be able to set up Modbus communications and manage them accordingly.
This video is about how to setup a Modbus communication parameter.
Modbus Baud Rate:
The baud rate for Modbus communication is typically expressed in bits per second (bps). Common baud rate settings for Modbus include:
9600 bps
19200 bps
38400 bps
57600 bps
115200 bps
Parity Bit:
The parity bit is used for error checking in Modbus communication. It can have one of three settings:
Data length: The data length determines the number of bits used to represent each character in the data frame. It is usually set to 8 bits for Modbus communication.
None: No parity bit is used.
Even: The parity bit is set to make the total number of 1s in a byte (including the parity bit) even.
Odd: The parity bit is set to make the total number of 1s in a byte (including the parity bit) odd.
Stop Bit:
The stop bit indicates the end of a character and allows for synchronization in Modbus communication. It can be set to:
1 stop bit: One stop bit is used.
2 stop bits: Two stop bits are used.
For example, a common short form representation for Modbus settings could be: 9600-N-1, which indicates a baud rate of 9600 bps, no parity bit (N), and 1 stop bit.

Aapne bahoot accha explain Kiya, lekin master jab kisi slave se data request karta hai tab function code with slave I'd bhejta hai usase pata chalta hai ki kis slave se response milega aur us data ko read, write or read/write karna hai.
