It would have been nice to get a Japanese weapon for the assault class. That way every class of every faction could be equipped with a weapon that makes sense for them to have. (MG-42 for German Support, STEN for British Medic, etc) It Would also have been nice to get some maps with Japanese attacking & Americans defending, since currently all the pacific maps are Americans attacking, Japanese defending. I thought wake island would be like that, but no, instead it’s a battle that never actually happened.
JL Earl Torejas well there weren’t any Japanese boots on the ground at Pearl Harbor. So I think an air map only would work better, like the London calling map in BF1. It can still have breakthrough mechanics though. Like for the first sector, maybe the Japanese planes need to take out frigates & AA emplacements protecting the harbor. Then in the second sector the planes need to take out docked battleships. Then in the third sector the planes need to destroy the fuel storage area and dry dock.
I don't think weapons should be restricted to certain factions just for the sake of historical accuracy. Sure putting women in place of men was stupid but guns should be available to every faction. Even a game like waw which is renowned for it's historical accuracy didn't care about locking weapons to certain factions.
I hate this game but I was good at it, I would run the Japanese bolt action or machine gun just for immersion and get really into the fighting, so much so my Friend would just say damn you really are good at this game, after I wiped a squad that killed him behind me and I revived him.
