  • Ive had a few days ti kill here in Calgary AB, so I decided to take as drive over to Drumheller. I haven't been here since I was a kid, but I remember really enjoying it then, and Im pretty much just an older kid so I figured id like it still. Drumheller is most known for the Dinosaur Museum, but it has some very amazing scenery as well. Im not sure if it compares to the scenery that i saw in the Rockey Mountains of BC and Alberta, but it is beautiful scenery none the less. Before i make my way to the Hoodoos in Drumheller, I have an amazing drive through the rockies, and I even take the time to do some of the local attractions. I stopped at Emerald Lake, and Wapta Falls, but by far my favourite was my hike up to the illecillewaet Glacier.

Usually if you see small pipes like that, it’s glacier water coming from them. They’re all over the Alberta Rockies for hikers.
Welcome to Alberta 😊 enjoy you’re stay

The choices in music accent the stunning scenery beautifully. For those who are able to do so, what a beautiful place to call home.💐🏆🥂💕

You wanna see hoodoos? Next time you're in the area head down to Writing-on-Stone provincial park East of Milk River. The ones in Drum are cool and all, but WOS will blow your mind man!

Yup it gets windy here in Drumheller and hot in the summer. I enjoy venturing around the valley, I've been here for 5yrs and still find new things to see.

Next time you pass through Drumheller you should make a stop at Horsethief Canyon.
We did a road trip about the same time as you, drove south to Drumheller, over to Calgary, Cochrane and Canmore, then north to Rocky Mountain House. Then finally back east thru Edmonton and then home.
So thankful we live in such a beautiful country!!

Magnificent landscapes. The Rocky Mountains of British Columbia and Alberta, along with the Hoodoos and mountains outside of Drumheller. Canada's landscape that was occupied by dinosaurs millions of years ago.

The next time you’re in that Drumheller area go stay at Emerson Bridge Park Campground real gem, also just North of Brooks Alberta on #36 if you’re coming off of Trans Canada # 1 from east or west. Very inexpensive great well kept facility and do some boating on The Red Deer River launch at campground . It’s actually a really great place to stay, since it’s in the Red Deer River Valley, a lot of the local people camp there well tree for shade by the river and do canoe and kayak into Dinosaur Provincial Park down river.
