MARTHA - Shot On iPhone - A Series Of Short Film Scenes Introducing Jack & Martha

Thanks for watching my short film scenes. It’s a series of movie scenes I’m working on for a larger project. Im training myself how to tell a story. This one is a dark comedy. I shot it by myself with my iPhone and some props and one light. No crew. No budget. No rigging fancy camera or lighting equipment. One light. One tripod from Beast-grip. And the cabin location. Natural fog. I love finding cinematic shots in natural lighting and natural occurring environments. The fire made natural light on my face. The window provided natural light coming in and was getting dimmer as the sun set. The one light I did use I used as a side light for that cinematic lighting look with one side of your face a darker shadow. The iPhone camera is placed on the shadow side to shoot. Frame your shots. Anyone can make their own movies now with just their phones!
This started out as a demo reel for my acting but I think it tells a little story or at least an outline of a story and leaves plenty of room for the story to continue and develop at the end. This story is Jack and Martha’s strange relationship. Jack is a delusional and naive character. Martha is a companion doll head whose body is gone.

This whole short is super funny to me. It’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, actually. I absolutely love it and all I see is pure potential where I can go from here. But I wish other people would see it and get something out of it. A laugh. Entertainment. Education. Or inspiration that you can do it too! That’s the mission statement of my channel. Thank you!

A character named Lex has it in his cabin but my character Jack has no idea yet who he is… He’s going to be in the next short I’ll post soon. Tomorrow probably.
