I started watching because I missed Michigan, and all of the roads you drive on(North Territorial on a Summer weekday when everyone is at work) I never considered myself a car guy, and after watching your videos I'm starting to think about what ride I want to get when I come back home.
We have to stop letting companies get away with charging $40k+ for vehicles with the interior quality of a $20k vehicle. If $40k-50k is the “new normal”, they should be spec’d accordingly
Couldn’t agree more the cheap plastics and inferior leathers and even the fabrics are cheap. Look at the mustangs as well they have really cheap interiors but charge big money for a 5.0. The American car company’s need to learn from the Asian car manufacturers. Take a look at say Kia or Hyundai
I wish we could get the Manuel in the six cylinder, I’m not paying the prices they ask for a four banger. Dealers are just insane in what they ask for new vehicles now days.
The same ppl that complain about car prices are the same ppl adding a Sas Pack to a vehicle that only ever sees mall parking lots and children’s soccer games.
This is very cool, but man is it loud. As soon as you got over 40-50 mph, it was nuts how much background noise there was. I hope they up the quality given the price. But it has personality in spades. This would be cool to have alongside a beater comfortable car when you get sick of how rough this thing is.
Never driven a Bronco, but the dream is a Wrangler (or Bronco) and a regular car. Road trips are kinda a chore in a Wrangler so having a regular car would be nice, but nothing beats having a vehicle you can take the doors and top off of during the summer
Weirdly, I’ve got a 2020 Civic Si. I recently test drove a 22 Bronco BD w/ soft top. I didn’t find it to be any louder or rougher than my Civic. I will admit the tires on my Civic have gotten unreasonably loud. So, between the stiff suspension and the bad tires, maybe I’ve just gotten used to a rough ride.
I love that the stock Badlands is perfectly spec’d for serious overlanding. 33s are ideal. Coming from an ‘88 wrangler with a hard top as my daily driver, the Bronco would be like Taj Mahal. Wind noise? I forgot what that was years ago. In a Jeep, that’s the vibe
got mine for $35k no markups and it's perfect. the 2 door manual is extremely capable with just 35s installed after purchasing. i've taken it through stoney lonesome ohv in alabama if anyone knows anything about that and it didn't get stuck once.
i also wanna mention i daily drive this car and have taken it on 8 hour + road trips for work for the past few months and i have nothing bad to say about it. it's amazing for what it is
For those who only like to drive Automatic transmission Vehicles, they will never gonna miss their old vehicle if their old vehicle is a manual transmission.
I find myself wanting one of these, but I wouldn't be able to deal with a rattling top. My 2012 JKU had a rattling top and it really killed daily drive experiences.
Hey Topher, I have a 94 Jeep xj with a 5-speed and 240k miles. I've been thinking about replacing her and this seems like as close to the modern version of that as I could get. What do you think? Do you think this fills that classic SUV niche that I've come to love in my Jeep?
I think you'll regret it. I felt the same when I finally traded my 98 tj 4.0 for a 2018 JL. If I had to make the choice again I wouldn't, especially not if you have an Accord or whatever to get to work most days...it's just...not the same

Topher, I saw your video on your Jeep Wrangler JL M/T. How does the Wrangler JL's M/T compare to the Bronco's M/T. From the video it looks like shorter throws than the JL's but what is your brief analysis comparing the two.
I'm an old geezer (72) and I've never owned an automatic. I find them very boring. I don't like a machine telling me what to do. Here's my problem. I will not drive a Ford for political reasons. Google Ford and Hitler. Could you buy this transmission and put it in a GM pickup truck? I love this Getrag 7 speed. It is perfect. They don't have the reverse gear on the wrong side with the high speed gears like my Firebird had. My Chevy Cruze got it right! I'm not sure why so many transmissions were designed backward like that. Low gears, like reverse belong with the low speed gears like Low and First. Love this transmission. I'm going to research this one. Thanks for the demo!
my fatal flaw is that you could convince me to buy anything with a manual. it’s the same with this and jeeps. is it a piece of shit? probably. do i still want it? absolutely.

Try the ecoboost, it has loads of torque and tons of aftermarket support. Its a great engine.

my dad has an outer banks 2.7 and its great. antimatter blue, roast interior. it gets 19.5mpg all the time

Bronco’s shifter is a lot better imo. Wrangler’s 6-speed felt cheap and flimsy
