    I own four CRK's and love them all. The talk about tight tolerances isn't hype. I think people who think it is just hype, have never disassembled and reassembled one. Everything is super tight, blade comes back to center every time. No fiddling with the pivot, just tighten it all down. They're not fidget toys, but high quality tools. Imo, definitely worth the price.

    I agree tantos aren’t my favorite but a CRK tanto is in my opinion the best looking tanto

    You said it so well and for me, I completely agree - I want steels that I can easily maintain and I love S35 and S45. I won’t get into how many Chris Reeve knives I have, let’s just always a lot. I am not a knife snob as my second largest collection is Buck 110’s - awesome knives in S30 and with the Boss heat treat, they are very good!

    It's the only tanto I own and I love it! It's different than other tantos and it looks and works great.

    the s35vn was hardened to 58-59 and the REALLY BIG difference is that the s45vn at the SAME heat treat hardened to 59-60.....and that what it was Originally....now, CRK is heat Treating them to 60-62 ... which is MILES better in terms of actual hardness.....and THAT's why you would go to the S45vn.....OnWard.....

    1 or 2 on the hardness scale can make a huge difference in blade steel. In the wood carving world the little whittling knives we use have very specific hardnesses and we are constantly stropping them, and you can tell immediately when the hardness is too low, or too high. Great review!

    Hello, I appreciate your honest style and opinions about knives. It's why I unsubscribed from all the hype channels that just peddled products for knives companies, and sub to channels like yours.

    I can't say enough good things about CRKs s45vn.
    I ended up trading a beater Medford for a like new insingo blade inkosi a few weeks ago, and it's pretty much all I've used since.
    Even doing dumb things with it, like shaving bone/antler (with the factory edge) never did anything that couldn't be stropped out. I finally killed it by trying to cut through some 1.5" diameter rope I found buried in the bank of the canal by my house, but once I dropped the edge to 16dps (.0195" bte) it cut through no problem, and stropped back almost perfectly.
    I dont like the hardware compared to a Sebenza. Everything loosens up unless heavily loctited, but that's not a huge deal.

      My main strop that is use is 9 mic gunny juice on basswood and it will take this s45vn back to sharp really fast. Thanks for watching

    I think you are high with the HRC s35 being 59-60, S45vn at 60-62, Damascus at 57-8.

    What's your favorite knife under $135? I'm really considering the Bd1n Manix 2 LW.

    Great video review!! Spot on, I really love Chris Reeves knives!! What would you recommend for a Sebenza model? Do they still make insingo blades?
    Thank you for sharing!

      My recommendation for a Sebenza would be a large 21 off the secondary market. I like the inlays but it’s great without them as well. The have made some insingo blades recently, but there whole production is behind so I would count on trying to get a new one anytime soon. Thanks for watching

    Are you able to do a middle finger "spydie flick" with the large inkosi?

    • @itsaknifestyle8482
      @itsaknifestyle8482  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure you can do it but not comfortably. This knife isnt the fastest when it comes to opening and closing

    If you could only have one CRK for life (whatever blade shape/size/model) what would it be?

    • @itsaknifestyle8482
      @itsaknifestyle8482  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My large 21 insingo with micarta inlays. That would be my one for use but I would also like a Wilson combat original pivot umnumzaan

      @@itsaknifestyle8482 I think mine would be a plain large inkosi drop point, bead blast w/silver lugs

      Lefty black micarta large 21 with raindrop or basketweave damascus.

    How’s the tanto holding up?

    • @itsaknifestyle8482
      @itsaknifestyle8482  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest, I haven’t really tested it on anything that would be challenging. It’s sharpens up good and does good with basic use
