I don't understand people getting upset about reselling. Everyone has the option to look up prices and sell their items on eBay themselves if they feel the hassle is worth it to them. If they choose not to do that, why get upset that someone else buys them at the price you set to do it themselves?
One of our larger local charity shops now has one dedicated person listing higher value donations on eBay - plus they also send that person to our car boot on Sundays to pick up vinyl records for listing. I was in the shop last weekend and the manager had great pleasure in telling me they could do me a great "deal" on some Beatles records they got as "first in the queue" at the car boot! My reply was less than charitable.....suffice to say I don't go in there any more.
When people get a bit too nosey why im buying things i like to say I'm buying it for someone else. They just presume a friend and not a stranger on ebay 😂
The birds were indeed from a magazine subscription. Came with a magazine explaining about the species. I have a fair number in my loft. If you have any damaged ones I would be happy to purchase as a bundle as I can restore them. If you need any info I can find the magazine x
Japanese Plates: try searching comps using the word Imari, the plate size and key words like Birds. When we lived in Japan we learned that many of those dishes were made for the tourist trade and the stamps on the back (Hanko) are just made up to lend some authenticity to the products for the export trade and don’t relate to actual companies, brands or ceramic brands. Same is true of many products made in China and exported.
Nic and andrea thank you sooo much. To see those lovely ladies selling and obviously so happy to be there, they dont need the money, its a way to meet and show happiness to otheres.. Thats my england lovely..
Google lens translate will translate your plate brand! Just brut my it into.focus with your phone camera, and choose Translate rather than Search. It is amazing to see names pop up!
Hey Nic, if you are unsure of the maker you can take a picture of the back or front and do a google image search , i took a screenshot and this is what i found: Eiwa Kinsei (栄和謹製) Eiwa Kinsei is generally export porcelain. It appears to have been exported between the mid to late 1950's-1980's. There are black and gold marks which date to the 50's (on lithophane geisha), a blue square mark which seems to have been used around the same time as the black and gold mark, rare red square mark in bone script probably used in the 1960's, and then most widely seen red mark with block script which is from the 1970's on. This mark is from the mid to late 1950's This is the Eiwa Kinsei mark with the "Ei" in bone script. My feeling is that this may have been used in the 1960's This mark was used during the 1970's Hope this helps 😊
A Dunoon mug is my husbands favourite. £1 local recycling center. His lordship. My next Dunoon find 6 months later, wasn't too good. Didn't do the ping test. Motherload mug with big old crack. Still has pride of place holding coffee sachets. Love Dunoon they are expensive new but quality wins.
have you looked into local auction houses ? i have made some real killings, ie an r2d2 robot bought for £16 sold for £450 the best way is through the saleroom its a lot of time searching but its all on the laptop, i limit mine to a radius of 50 miles but i have travelled more for a good deal
Wasn’t the birds 3 for a £1?? Shame you couldn’t repair them.. that’s what I’m aiming to learn how to do it.. good luck selling them, I’m sure you will get a good price x
9:20 It wasn’t this guy was it Nic? You just get a feeling from some people that they’re making a point when they want to look at the exact same thing you’re looking at the exact same time.
You really are gathering items right and left! I am amused that people say "tiny, !ittle" on your side of the pond, also. It is a bit redundant, but I guess that doesn't come to mind. I had thought that in Great Britain, the bastion of English language properly used, people wouldn't use it! 😂
Thats because, here in the UK, we have 'little things' (as standard) and then we have "tiny little things"!! How else are we to distinguish between the two?
From the live show comment: When she’s good, she’s very, very good, but when she’s bad she’s terrific! Is my personal favorite variation of the actual poem called: There was a little girl by HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW There was a little girl, Who had a little curl, Right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, She was very good indeed, But when she was bad she was horrid.
Love the vid can you please explain because I have always wanted to know if a pound is your dollar what percent of a pound is the quid and the pee? What I think is a quid is equal to a quarter or .25 of a pound and maybe a pee is equal to a Pennie or .01 of a pound am I completely wrong?
Quid is just slang for a pound-yes, it’s our dollar and I don’t think there’s much difference in value these days. 1 pee (p) is one pence and it’s one hundredth of a pound.

none of the people upset about it go around bootsales telling people how much its worth on ebay and to sell it there. its an odd complaint really.
Envy comes in many forms.

Was the "Do you want to perch....." comment deliberate when talking about the birds?

Might be worth advertising the birds on Twitter.
Looks like Andrew O'Connor on the board game. Love that crochet blanket, hope you are keeping that Andrea!
Your birds would be lovely individually at a boot sale for kids fairy gardens. Something they can afford with their pocket money xxx cheri
@3:40 is Andrew O'Connor, I remember him from Chain Letters
You live in such a good area for these so many jumble sales. I thought you would be at the resellers event

Hi Nic. The Japanese plates......try 'Japanese Imari Decor Plate'. Some are listed for about £12 as singles.
Taking a 'flutter' on the birds?😅
Wasn’t the birds 3 for a £1??

As I and my wife say..."you have to kiss a lot of frogs...."
You get greedy and come unstuck part of a resellers life
You really are gathering items right and left!

@@Stall69UK In Scots we have toty wee- to express a degree of smallness almost invisible to the naked eye…😊
Nice one Nic 😊
17:32 It's already, not allready! 😂

@Pinkcoffeeinc - hi a pound is roughly $1.20. A quid is just a slang term for pound and a pee is indeed a penny. Hope this helps.

Oops- just seen the reply above which is a bit more accurate than mine!
Enjoyed the Video!!! 🤗🤗 🙋🏻♀️
