Read Better Business Bureau and Google complaints against each insurance company. Read the horror stories about people getting lied to, claims denied, claims delayed, cars LOST when nobody knew where an insurer towed it to, etc. Choose the company with the least lawsuits and complaints against it. Commercials and cheap rates mean NOTHING. Also, read the clauses that dictate the cheap level of knockoff parts the insurer says it will attempt to use instead of original parts, so you know what you're paying for.

I just left State Farm FOR Allstate because they kept raising my effing rates each renewal period. No accidents, no tickets, nothing. And they don’t even tell you, they just bill you higher rates. So After calling the clown at State farm and telling him to GTFOH, I signed up for the same coverage with Allstate and am already paying less !!!!! F around and find out State Farm!!! He even shares in this video that state farm gradually raises your rates over time. Who the hell wants to go with a company that raises rates like that. Get outta here.

State Farm is no longer writing new policies in many southern states. State Farms rates are super high. State Farm fought me in an accident with another state farm driver and they admitted they were at fault. My own agent told me be easier just to claim it on my policy. Just got with the cheapest insurance they all are crooked.

I've just started looking at auto insurance again because I've been with Progressive for at least 2 out of the past 7 years and initially when I started with them it was around $135 a month back in January of 2015 and I switched to Ensurance because they were quite a bit cheaper and now Progressive is back up to $135 but I did a quote with State Farm and it came out to $113 a month and the quote with Allstate is $105 a month and Allstate offers more in there quote so I need to call Progressive and question them why it went from $80 up to what they have my rate at now. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket since I was 18 which is over 11 years ago but I did get a ticket last year because I was trying to get rid of a car that hadn't had it's registration paid but that's all over the past 11 years.

Hi, I don't know if you'll see this or comment - I'm still Team State Farm but a tad annoyed since my 6 month renewal a few weeks ago was a bit higher than I'd like - this is after a few years when my rates went down, especially when I bundled my homeowners with them in November 2020. Am considering moving the auto from SF but keeping the HO there at next auto policy renewal. I heard that SF starts spiking the auto rates when you reach a certain age which am close to - been driving over 30 years, never a DWI or DUI, nonsmoker, (touch wood) don't remember last time I got any kind of ticket, accident free almost 30 years, OK credit and work in an office (current employer over 8 years). I live in SE PA and wonder if the AARP sponsored 55+ refresher course would help lower the SF rates - I won't do any of the Big Brother gizmos from any carrier. I won't consider Allstate, AARP/The Hartford, AAA or Farmers due to personal experiences and/or reputation and am not crazy about Progressive, either. I thought about GEICO (they actually have an agency about 10 miles from my home) - and worked 3 years as a licensed accident/health producer (my producer license is inactive now) so I know some general insurance jargon, using some of it where I currently work, since I heard the rates at GEICO get lower after someone reaches a certain age. I thought about Amica but wonder if they would be too pricey, even after dividends; I know I don't qualify for USAA (I'm not a veteran or married to one - my Dad was a veteran but he died and he never was a USAA policyholder) - also considering Erie or NJM since they are highly thought of but am leery since they only write coverage in a few states and suppose I move out of PA? If you do see this, thanks in advance for your comments.

State Farm is a shared risk company however. Get hit by another State Farm drive as a policy holder and you both get marked at fault and it impacts your rates across the market for 5 years! Oof

  • @alexisdiva9

Definitely Team State Farm - I've had Allstate for a few years in the late 1990's and the person who recommended me to them got into a huge horror story legal issue about one month after I signed up with them. As soon as I was able I switched to State Farm and saved a bundle - had a small claim on a broken auto window that was handled very well. Also, the main State Farm company is a mutual company - mutuals are a dying breed in the industry. This means that it's actually State Farm's policyholders who own State Farm, unlike most carriers such as Allstate & GEICO where the people who own their stock own the company. All things being equal, i'd lean towards a mutual since that carrier only needs to please policyholders and regulators - but stock companies also have to please their stockholders who just want to see profits, period. In the late 2000's I actually even got a one time dividend from State Farm when they had a really great year.

I don't know which one is better but all I know is I get ripoff from my State farm.. Honestly,I'm currently with state farm and have been with State farm 4+ yrs; I'm the only one policyholder 2 vehicles with just liability with driving more than 15 yrs and no ticket, no DUI, no DWI and never got any claims, but still costs me $143/m or $858/6m or $1,716/yr. they already know that to pay out $858 every 6 months or $1,716/yr with just liability is too high but just say nothing because they don't wanna lose the customers. What do you think of my premium $1,716/yr with just liability with 2 vehicles with only me (no one else under my policy) and never got any tickets, no DWI, and no DUI in the last 7 yrs?
You guys think to pay out $1,716/yr with just 2 vehicle liability with no claim, no DUI, no DWI, and no tickets in the last 7 yrs is cheap?
