Yes. You are absolutely correct. We all suffer emotionally because we all are only attached to this materialistic world and we get attached first 6th house and then we fear to loose, death of our expectations 8th house and we need this to transform ourselves.
So Saturn stays the Karaka of 6,8house to torment our emotions and drowns us in flood of tears.

I have Saturn in my 12th house. While it is exalted in Libra, I think it might be afflicted because both Mars and Pluto are in the 12th house with Saturn. I've had the most difficult life - as a kid, teen, and adult. I don't know what past life Karmas I am carrying, astrology has helped me understand everything. Now, I don't blame myself for everything, instead, I have accepted this is the life God gave me and I have to live it. I am also glad that I have started my life healing process. And finally I have to say it is very very difficult to control your emotions when you have so many planets in the 12th house.

Example: Wearing Blue sapphire for Saturn dasa make worst since most believe Blue sapphire makes more powerful Saturn.They say not to wear Gems for malefic planets.
