I have the exact same car but I got tires 205/55 r16 and the handling is impressive, like I told to my self "this car handles the corners the best way" , nearly same mileage and year, It's very fun to drive. Try to put on bilstein suspension then let me know 🙂
These two are good options. Don't mind which one choose, if you want to compare how it works the 109hp you have the Peugeot 308 and the 206 XS in my list to check the engine in the test drive! :)

Doesn't have the punch of 1.9 TDI but such a low consume.
