The fact that the main villains just want their reports and PowerPoint slides is incredibly realistic for a bureaucratic empire.

@@mat3714 I do think they misunderstood why the prequel political scenes didn't work. People just can't connect to being in some massive auditorium with huge, vague, sweeping rhetoric as dialogue. But every white collar worker in the world can connect to being in a meeting, trying to iterate a serious problem, but being dismissed and ignored. Blue collar workers probably have plenty of those moments, too.

Andor actually feels like a adult sci-fi drama rather than a Disney action adventure to a point where this could fit really well in a HBO line up. It's very refreshing not having droids in the background providing comic relief during serious scenes.

Even though there’s a lot of dialogue it doesn’t feel pointless like 90% of BOBF did. They’re not relying on nostalgia and member berries. Everyone has lost something, someone. The Empire does what it want’s, to who it wants, for as long as it wants and no one can do anything about it and they are sick of it. Its almost time and my ptsd is flaring up watching it build for go time. This show is simply amazing!

A little background on the ISB that would explain that Imperial scene some more. I think it shows how much the Director cares about the source material. The phrase, "Officers like you", is a reference to her prior experience in the "Enforcement" branch of the ISB. Enforcement branch where "out of the box" thinkers and where sort of "rougish" compared to most ISB officers. Enforcement branch often did specialized missions and hired people outside of the bureau and this caused friction with other branches because those outsider loyalties and motivations where always under question. Knowing all that adds a lot of depth to the scene and I hope they explore that more.

Damn, this show is really building up nicely.
I especially like that you get perspectives from all sides with real characters. Especially the empire is getting fleshed out much more than in previous movies/shows.
I kinda predict that this debacle of this security company (or whatever it is) at the incident in the first three eps will contribute to the building of the Death Star, which would be pretty amazing.
It is like Andor set in motion the events of Rouge One and Ep4 himself, so his contribution to destroying the Death Star would be more of a cleaning up his own mess.
Maybe a bit of a reach or maybe that is what this show will be going for.

While watching the scene where the Imperial officer has her concerns over a possible rebellion dismissed by her superior…It reminded me of Pearl Harbour where there was one intelligence officer warning about an impending Japanese attack and then being ignored by his superiors. Don’t know if it was intentional by the show runners but I found it interesting to speculate.
Anyway I’m having a good time so far with this. Solid acting and script, fantastic cinematography. Definitely a step up from most Disney content. But I do agree that the release format is hurting the show as I would much prefer 3eps in a chunk.

I'm very happy with the way Andor turned out, I am a huge Rogue One fan, despite the criticism it received, which in my opinion was totally unwarranted and at a minimum exaggerated, so an entire series set in that portion of the universe and created by the same people with a very similar gritty feel, is an absolute gift! Even more so since I assumed it would have been trash and never anticipated it, so it was basically a complete sweet surprise, and now I find myself in your same situation where Im craving for more 😅, a feeling i dont even remember when was the last time I had it! The format is how TV typically used to be, I don’t need 3 every couple of weeks just because we’ve gotten used to binging shows and having a big reveal / action sequence in each episode. I remember watching the walking dead in its heyday and it wasn’t always huge events that happened week to week, you get time with the characters and become attached to them. It’s not a movie split into 12 episodes, it’s a classic TV format that we’ve gotten less used to over the years since big budget television has become the norm and we’ve been conditioned to expect big moments each ep. It’s refreshing having Andor take its time and allowing us to get invested in its characters.

Especially the story arc when DS9 is occupied by the Dominion and Kira, Odo, Rom, and Jake have to work clandestinely to sabotage the Dominion. This in turn made me realize that what I really want to see that includes Jedi is not them interacting with "regular" people. We get it... they are more powerful but I really rather dive head first into Sith/ Jedi lore/ training/ adventures to get certain holocron/ teachings etc. rather than this Jedi in a City borefest that we got with Obi Wan where the coolest part was him fighting against Darth on a random planet in the middle of nowhere.

As for the weapons, I was a bit meh that they just used AK's with some aesthetic modifications. But then I remembered Han's blaster was a Mauser C96 and the Stormtrooper's E-11 blaster is a modded Sterling smg. If we get a closeup of that AK I'm sure it has "Star Wars Blaster" levels of alterations. I just find it cool that after years of Star Wars transforming WW2 weapons into blasters we finally get to the AK. I remember Rogue One had heavily modified AR-15s replacing the STG-44 as the Rebel rifles and an M60 as the U-wing's door gun and the bad sequel trilogy had equally modified G36Cs and an M82 Barrett hidden in a shot.

    This show is so good
No annoying characters or gringy dialoge... atleast yet 😑

God it makes you wonder. If only Obi Wan had had the writing and directing of Andor 😔

Just another great episode. Andor at the moment is the one series I look forward the most to watching every week.

I like how the undercover store was selling artifacts and weapons of different planets. I’m also glad they are able to avoid member berries for the first 4 episodes.
