I just finished purchasing a 2020 Hawk. 250 in the crate. Two things one should note: Plug-in front turn signals and test prior to mounting so that you can determine which is left and right. Additionally, more recent models are shipped with the monoshock disconnected from the lower clevis mount.
@@614clout2 start with the simple stuff that doesn't cost anything. Check to be sure that your kill switch is in the on position and that you are getting spark to the plug. Check that you have put enough gas in it that it fills the carburetor and that the petcock is turned on to allow fuel flow. To verify you do have fuel in the carb Bowl, open the drain screw at the bottom of the carburetor and fuel should flow out of the Overflow hose onto the ground below. If you have spark and you have fuel then make sure that you are giving it choke when your first trying to start it.
Just like everything else in America that is going up. The cost of shipping it over here is one of the driving factors for the increase, besides increases in raw materials. Still one of the most affordable road legal dual sport motorcycles on the market.
You never hook up the battery until you're done putting the bike together! There's your first mistake! If there's some kind of short you're going to find it Hooking and connecting wires together when the battery is connected is not a good idea!
Mine did not come with the front suspension lowered like yours. Instead mine came with the rear suspension not in the correct position. And I got to the step where you removed it off the lift and put the kickstand out and mine kept wanting to fall over with the kickstand fully out. If this happens to you guys don’t worry, put the kickstand fully out get your 14 mm wrench and impact wrench and balance it on the kicks stand and get on the right side and lift up on it to lift it like it would be if the rear suspension was completed. Pull out that bolt where the rear suspension goes, place the rear suspension right in that hole and get it aligned and place the bolt back through and tighten it down. It may take many tries.
@Thizzlemane La Flare yes, my spring wasn’t attached so I had to mount the bike up so the back wheel would hang, and then I attached the spring, don’t forget you can adjust it easier before attaching
Great Video extremely helpful to know what to do first....! Since first watching this video I have done my own bike my grandsons in today around noon I’m going to do another one exactly like mine in fact it’s exactly like the one in your video it’s even Red....! Once again very good video.... professor Jeff....
Yes and no. It has all that you need, but id suggest using some grease to get the swing arm bushing and axles to prevent any failures. And get the fish oil out put in name brand oil. Loctite on bolts that need it. Other than that great bike
George True i literally just got mine last week😂 its a bitch let me tell ya but now im riding and have 50 miles and im not worried about all out failure carb still needs tuning but its great well worth the money
Go to your local auto parts store and just buy one. Waiting on these folks will cost time. Send an email and when it shows up, you will have a extra one. Keep the 2nd one at yhe ready if need be. Extra parts and battery's are good thing if your in a pinch
Hi great video helped me a lot one question though. My shifter moved in and out after I tightened it onto the shaft any ideas why or what I’m doing wrong?
I had to take the bolt completely out of the shifter. Then it slid easily into place. I just wiggled it in and out until the threads took hold in the valley between the grooves like it’s supposed to.
I seen one of your old videos and was wondering if you have a racing cdi box for a 1995 lt80 I'm trying to get rid of the rev limiter on it to give it a higher top end instead of rev dropping at top end? Thanks for any help have great day
This video barely helped me at all doesnt even mention the part where you have to connect the shocks to raise the bike off the back tire and way to confusing on where the screws and bolts go. Like ok use these bolts picture 📸 shows 16 of them some different sizes and doesn't show where some go I followed this video and ended up with a handful of extra screws next time go into a little more detail
So no greasing any parts or using a torque wrench?
Where are you going to get torque specs? I can't even find a instruction manual!!
Sweet.

Mine came without a battery.
You didn't show the rear shock connection which is one of the most important steps

Mine just showed up at home. Can't wait to get off to go assemble and play with it!

I had to hammer mine gently on so that it slides all the way on
