I made over 1mil at the end of spring of my 2nd year. Bare in mind that the Rice is a random item that shows up in the shop, so buy as many as you can afford at the time. You'll make plenty of gold this way because all you need is that single ingredient.
The games over here are realsed a lot later than in most places(Even in the UK we're so slow..:( ) It was only released late June/Early July 2012 over here, games are realsed in different places at different tiems (even years in this case)
