Grandy once defended using "Weeble" as a rhyme for "feeble." He mentioned the toy by that name, citing their slogan, "Weebles wooble, but they don't fall down." Quite a brain on that fellow.
You know, Fred is actually right about Dazzy Vance. He played the majority of his career with the Dodgers. Although he got a couple of call-ups from the minors beforehand, officially, his career in the majors lasted from 1922 to 1935. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955.
Another interesting thing about Fred Grandy is that he was actually a Republican representative in federal Congress for the state of Iowa from 1987-1995.

I wish Grandy argued on behalf of working people while he was in Congress as much as he argued about Dazzy/Dizzy.
Just be glad he's not in Congress now.

Thing is if this WAS baseball, Fred wouldn't have just lost the challenge, he would have been ejected instead.
Especially if Angel Hernandez had called him wrong at the beginning.
"Dazzy" could have been disqualified for being too close to "dizzy".
The only way a word is disqualified as being too close is if it is a spelling variation of the "answer" word, which did not apply in this case.
