Still blown away how good the original looks. Remastered version looks a little to washed out in some areas. Crysis is still one of my fps shooters of all time.
Original looks better in terms of art style it was inspired by real life location and Predator(1987). Remaster looks way too colorful and too bright on top of that there is some weird fog added probably from X360 version since remaster was built on that port for some reason.
The fog comes from raytracing. Oddly raytracing doesn't seem to do much. Gives a different image not necessarily a better one. Dynamic shadows and reflections are better... Especially dynamic shadows. But overall I prefer the image of the rasterized version.
The Original looks better than the Remastered version. The Remastered version is too bright outside, the vegetation has less detail, it all has a washed out feeling. Water looks better, as do some graphics they replaced, but in general terms, the Original feels more "real"...
the original has a more realistic picture. just some kind of anti-advertising for ray tracing xd. at 3:00 in the original the vegetation is clearly visible, but in the remaster everything is blurry like on some PS4 (LOL)
it simulate early morning. Remember, the game starts during sunrise and it shows all the early morning fog during a cold night in the summer. Ofc the remaster looks alot better.
The original is still better for the vegetation green tint, the colors are oversaturated in the remastered. Besides, during the night, the vegetation is grey in the original and green in the remastered : once again, the original is better. The physics is also better for the original : when the palm tree falls on the car, the car is damaged, contrary to the remastered. The remastered has better lighting and reflections, thanks to ray-tracing. The remastered is clearly disappointing.
two completely different art directions. beach house was lacking shadow details that the original had at 3:30 you can also see some jitter/artifacts going on with the shadow to the right of the yellow umbrella. I think it is an ok remaster but the textures are mostly recolored and not remodeled. just gives off more far cry vibes to me.
There's something special about this game and that calm tropical atmosphere which separates it from the rest. The same vibe one gets from Far Cry 1. Good old times
I like the original volumetric Fog & Lightning more natural and realistic, but the remaster has much better textures, TAA makes a lot of ghosting in leaf falling example 1:52, is there a way to turn off the TAA?
It's impressive how the older version completely trumps the newer one in several areas. Obviously some things have improved (lighting with ray tracing, some textures, etc.) I think I honestly prefer the older one. The detail in the faces from the very start of the video and the way their mouths move when they talk. The remaster looks considerably worse in those areas. Something about the palm fronds waving in the wind looks much more realistic in the original as well. It's still an absolute masterpiece all these years later. It easily beats games that are released today.

I noticed that when I was playing it but figured maybe it was just me...
Which of the 3 do you prefer
I’ll admit I like the lighting in remastered a lot more than in the original

The remaster still looks better than 99% of overprocessed Unreal Engine 5 games. It looks clean.
Looks better =\= looks realistic
The remastered version looks realistic, the original one looks cartoonish, it's a matter of taste.
I agree, the original looks way better

It cause he is using TAA and not DLSS, with DLSS it is much better.

the Disneyland filter is enabled ^^

When you see how good the original Crisis still looks today, you get an idea why hardly anyone could run it back in the day. 😂
@@EmptyBrewsky Crysis should be classified as a quadruple A game LOL
TRUE
5:59 - I honestly think the original looks better here.
@@MichaelJohnsenOslo is it just me, or is the texture glitching on the arm in the remaster?

interesting compare. original Crysis looks near real. and remastered Crysis looks Disneyland movie ^^
It's the other way around... Looking "better" doesn't mean realistic. The remastered one is much much more realistic while the OG looks cartoonish
@@Chl19AK perhaps you played the OG under ecstasy ?!
The original looks a lot better, color-wise.
Dont agree. Yes, og game looks really good for 2007. But the remaster looks alot better. 2007 shows its age!
Yes, by far. Replacing the warm tropical tone by this bleach filter is a terrible idea its incomprehensible.
@@CriseExistentielleGaming remastered tried to look realistic with water bleaching due to evaporation from sea water.
Idk bout this take
How about the performance? The remastered utilizes all of your cores while The Original only uses one threads 💀
The original game looks absolutely much better !
i like the color grading of the old crysis
i swear the original looks noticeably better and ive not played either yet

There's no volumetric fog or lightning in the original 🤦
@@ronniecantiga5629 I meant the Sun god ray you can see it on the tree leaf when you watch the sun

the original looks better, what work did they do?
In the remake the lighting is evidently superior, but I honestly don't think the game's overall appearance is.
Remastered has more realistic lighting/shading, but the original lighting is more suitable for Crysis artstyle.
Too much fog in remaster
Color grading is on point for OG crysis
please tell me the reason why most people that makes these types of videos they disable motion blur
Benchmarks? Same fps ?
The only time remastered looks better is when into night but overall the original looks better specially in nature
crysis remastered runs better than og crysis on steamdeck since it uses vulkan and vulkan is faster on linux than dx.
Original wins on scenery, remastered has better character models
Intro music title?
Different but I prefer the older one
Original version better 🤣
They shoud've gone for a remake. This just isn't worthy.
When the original is better...
og game looks better 90% of the time
I really like the colorful look of the remaster.
Who remembers maxishine videos 8800 gtx sli crysis killer machine ohhhh yea
