    I've been looking for a Queensland hiking/camping TH-camr for a while... I'm stoked I finally found someone local to me! After doing the Cooloola GW last year the backpacking bug bit and it's great to check out these more off-the-beaten trail options. Subscribed and looking forward to more :)

      Thank you so much, really appreciate it. Yep, you often won’t find me on the standard tracks / graded trails. I am definitely a big fan of the difficult and more remote hikes. Good stuff in completing the Cooloola GW 👏

    Great video.
    I'm heading to Cape York later this year, exploring many National Parks along the way, including Girraween NP. Your video has given me inspiration to do an overnight hike here.

    G’day Aaron! Mate do you have an Alltrails or Wikiloc hiking trail map for this? Would love to camp there! Also, Kitchen Cave? Thanks for making these videos! My young fella enjoys watching your content 👍

    • @AaronGrayOutdoors
      @AaronGrayOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers! I’m glad to hear the little one is enjoying my content 👌. I tend to stay away from those apps and generally navigate via the topo. I’m pretty sure there’s a slip rock / kitchen cave trail already on wikiloc but finding the cave itself definitely takes some exploring as it’s hard to find being hidden on a lower level. West Bald isn’t too difficult either - there are some rock cairns that lead up there from the fire trail. I hope that helps.

    Hi Aaron, thanks for sharing your experience. Have been looking for places to backcamp for so long. Would you mind sharing the trail for this or the site destination I can’t find what I am looking for to get there. Thank you 😊

      Hey! It’s a great spot although does require some navigational experience. It’s half way between Mt Norman day use area and the remote South Bald campsite. I’d probably recommend starting with South Bald Rock however which is also really nice and is bookable via QPWS. I hope that helps 👍
