    I built my own kitchen recently - a shaker style - simply by adding face-frames to the existing quality carcasses and making new doors, plus a bit of re-arranging of units and a new quartz top. Not quite to the standard of the chap here, but I recognised many of his tools and techniques (pocket hole drill etc :)). Lovely to watch a real pro though - absolutely beautiful craftsmanship. Makes me want to do it all again and see if I can my tolerances even closer than last time! Great video - enjoyed it immensely.

      Tbh, unless you're paying absolute megabucks, the utilisation of standard quality, big box cabinetry is perfectly good. I've seen 40 year old carcasses that are still as good as the day they were manufactured. As you say, it's the visible bits, doors, drawer fronts that make the look. These can be replaced ,reworked, repainted or whatever in minutes.

    I like using Ronseal multipurpose wood filler, you can sometimes avoid sanding by wiping away the excess with a damp cloth. If it looks like it's starting to dry up, just add a little bit of water, mix it really well and it's good again. I also use my finger as a more flexible filling tool, especially in corners.

      Personally I do think some of the festool stuff is ridiculous compared to others. However, what's cool is they do invent new tools such as the domino and tracksaw where everyone benefits after the patients run out?
      Personally I think certain bits such as the domino, sanders and dust extractors seem worth it while the drills and multi tools seems to have limited benefits compared too the dewalt or makita

      @Mr.Grimsdale 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There were two different types of worktop, one was real wood but there was no joint needed because of where it was placed, the other type of worktop looked to be a granite, the joints on that looked to have had a filler of some description, possibly an epoxy resin but its hard to tell as we didn't get a close-up shot.

    I have experienced the stark differences between Dulux retail and Dulux trade paint. The coverage and quality of finish are worlds apart. In my particular case the DIY shop has run out of stock (as had the paint after one patchy coat). The trade centre was only £4:00 dearer, but coverage, ease of use would make it far the cheaper product in a side by side job comparison.
