Man NT looks awesome. Yellowknife honestly looks like the absolute perfect city for me. I live in Ontario and everyone calls me crazy for wanting to move out there but I think they're crazy for not wanting to. It's absolutely beautiful. I've got the Northern blood flowing through my veins. It's calling me!
I live in Chicago and I still think Chicago's too cold for me even after watching this. I wanna move down to Alabama, warm weather, cloudy, and it rains a shit ton. Just the type of weather for me.
@@DannieKamete I visited much of The South and it's objectively the worst location in this nation by just about every metric., Wow I'm actually amazed I ever glorified the south. The Winters drop down to the 40s in most of The South but it never snows so it's just chilly and everything's dead out which is depressing when there's no snow. I love the snow of Chicago now. And there's really nothing like Chicago in The South, the cities down there lack the most basic amenities and structures that make cities interesting in the first place. It's just a lame section of the USA. Sorry for the long rant
@@tonygabashvili8357 Aha very interesting to read! Thanks for replying. I live in a town in the far north of Europe (same latitude as Yellowknife as a matter of fact) and I love the winter. There's nothing like the four seasons. True four seasons. Having lived in a tropical country before, the endless humid summer of the tropics is overrated. Bugs like mosquitoes, diseases (germs also love the warm weather) snakes, centipedes, and so on. Glad you're happy where you are.
Just when you thought you have it bad in winter..Canadians one up you :) gotta love them and the brave folks who live in places like Yellowknife. I bet the place must be quite peaceful and laid back. Kudos to the municipality to keep the roads driveable in such harsh and extreme conditions know to humans.
+janakiram suswaram Yeah, Southern Canadians have it bad in winter in the sense that we have freezing rain and all this crap, up North it just gets cold, no freezing rain and just a dry cold.

Thanks for sharing, that looks great, I would love to live somewhere cold like that, here in the UK it never really get much below freezing, we had a couple of bad winters a couple of years back, when it was -10 and heavy snow for a couple of weeks, but the place shuts down when that happens as we just aren't equipped to deal with it as it happens so infrequently. The ironic thing is your summers are better than our too, 20c is a hot day here, but 15c isn't unusual, in fact the temp difference between summer and winter is probably less than 10c.
My thoughts as well Andy. I'm born and bread in England, but would love to spend a few years near or beyond the arctic circle. I've been to northern Norway a few times and would recommend it. Would love to see Canada as well.
***** Yeah 79, It's an amazing country...Take a look at the map...and this wee spot is only half way to the "end"!!!!...Just take lots of Vitamin D...and look out for the alley catz....cheers.
Good memories from last March when I visited from Ireland. Bit of a weather shock for me !! Fascinating town and great people. We sell wood pellet boilers to a company in town. We've posted a video of our trip to yzf on our site. Hope to go back someday.
to get to yellowknife by road you have to cross the deh cho bridge it is amazing no more crossing with the merv hardy ferry which was fun they moved it downstream
The main hotels here are Explorer hotel and the Yellowknife Inn, but we also have Days Inn. I recommend that you check these websites before your visit: Www.Yellowknife.ca and Www.VisitYellowknife.com. Both websites have tons of info about the city of Yellowknife.
Fantastic video! However I'm it is my duty to report you to the Municipal Enforcement Division for running that red light on 50th St. Just kidding....sure makes me miss good ole' YK. Thanks again!

Yes that is correct Alex Debogorski of Ice Road truckers lives in Yellowknife.
Awesome! What time of day was that?
According to the clock at 7:27, it was 2:26 pm. Sunrise was at 9:38 am, and sunset 4:00 pm that day.

Beautiful.
I am not sure why but I didn't expect to see that much traffic there. I guess I learned something.

What is the favorite cereal of Yellowknife? Frosted Flakes.
Emil Phoryew Mini Weats
I'm lucky I live in Northwest Territories ⭐️
Aww it's August... why did I watch this. At least they seem to be able to remove snow/ice from the road unlike Kenora.
the best thing to do in yellowknife in the winter is go aurora viewing.
It actually looks big for a city its size. I mean it has skyscrapers and it feels quite dense for a city of under 20000.
Question what time of day was this at?
amazing!
Wouldn't want to drive too often in there conditions...how often is Yellowknife snow free...?
Wow thanks neat .I live in the lower 48. but sure like all the vids.
How long does the average car last up there?
Cidade muito bonita from Brasil 😎
Wow, to me this place looks beautiful but it definitely wouldn't feel good to be there. :)

The place to be!
