The monster hunter games definitely do have lore. Your a hunter working in a specific region of the world. Its frontiers you could say. Your job is to stop select monster from harming people and their eco systems. The story specifically of world was a research mission to the new world and find out why elder dragons are mass moving there. You find zones never before discovered and find monsters not yet fully recorded. Iceborne is similar but weirder shit is going on. Seems an elder dragon is causing mass displacement of animals into different environments causing mass eco death and you gotta find it and stop it. At the end of ice borne however you need to face the biggest never ending bad of monster hunter. Fatalis
I’m convinced that like 80% of people that started with world cannot enjoy any other MH game including stories D: show them the credit song from mhGen and watch them get angry XD
I disagree on feeling better. Charge Blade for example feels straight up worse in Rise and Sunbreak compared to World and Iceborne's version, which basically just reverted Generation's awful changes to the weapon and brought it closer to 4U's version while adding new elements to its moveset. I also don't like GS in Rise over World until you unlock Rage Slash. Something about TCS feels off in Rise. It might be because of how all over the place monsters are in Rise compared to the rest of the series. Also HH. Its not even close to being the same as the older titles in favor of turning it into a mindless DPS weapon instead and essentially abandoning the whole charm of the weapon for it. However I agree that the weapons do look better, since they didn't just take bone or iron weapons and slap bits on some of them like World did with a lot of monsters (with some exceptions, like Pukei-Pukei's weapons being the same in Rise as they were in World, for example).
My progression was dumb i went from longsword > SnS > dual blades back to longsword and then i just alternated between that and SnS particularly with iceborne clutchclaw supremacy
Mine was odd First I beat the main game with hammer and endgame high rank. Switched to Greatsword cus I wanted to cut tails after getting good with GS I used Charge Balde and Switchaxe to prove I was smart enough to use them Got hooked on CB because the movements are fun and adaptible. SHORT AND SWEET: Hammer
Also, interesting fact about rise is that it's designed with a different ethos. Long story short, monster hunter release two games (usually) per generation, one a mainline game (world) and one, a fast paced, balls to the walls experimental game for portable consoles (rise) - it's usually quicker paced, doesn't care about lore as much and is more a testbed for potential mechanics for the next mainline game - which is why it feels emptier, it is made for handheld consoles thus can't be as mindbogglingly gorgeous as world, and is intended to be faster so you can pick it up on the go.
All monster games are great and my favorite is 4 Ultimate. The story is simple each game follows it: Ancient powerful monster is starting to become a problem, so they want you to go and kill it.
a quick note on the world vs rise debate since alot of new MH fans dont know this but world is a mailine game MH 5 really whial rise is a portable game a game where story dosent matter as mutch and lets the team exsperiment. so whene Monster Hunter Wilds (MH6) comes out we should be back to form like in world but with changes that they learned from iceborn and rise.
This may be a hot take, but world does have a story and a pretty decent one at that. If you do something that the majority of people seem incapable of doing and open your fucking eyes to read your screen, the story is pretty well explained and tied up nicely. Obbiously it isnt the best story known to man but to say its shit or non existent is straight up false Also i 100% agree with a lot of the monsters being hot, extremely based viewpoint
I don't know what's worse, the fact that I subscribed the instant you said the monsters were hot or the fact I as another brit didn't notice you were british. And yes, yes you should keep playing~
I love monster hunter world but man I get so upset when I'm so close to killing a wyvern and it just leaves. My hard work just gone. Everything else is fine.
3 notes in favour of Rise: 1) It's completely finished now, it got all the content 2) It has a "join whatever" button for when I don't know what to hunt and just want to join some randoms 3) You don't get tripped by those fucking Longsword players anymore, get the FUCK away from the head, I'm trying to give it a concussion
1:31 Not really “story” focused as most lore reads like a nature documentary while you experience how these monsters live. With it being a mix of biology and fantasy, if anything take Oceanz ecology videos as a testament to how natural science is already baked into the world of MonHun.
Monster Hunter's plots are very simple to follow, and most of the time, not really that great or important. The best story in Monster Hunter, in my opinion, is 4 Ultimate, followed closely by Tri/3U's plot, and even then those stories aren't a HUGE deal or anything.
monster hunter world is literally the least complete game of the bunch from bad mechanics like the clutch claw that was a band aid fix fox the lack of weak spots on monsters to the total amount of monsters even to the build verity. It lacked in all departments , But because oh pretty graphics everyone's like yeah this is the most complete it isn't by a mile. MHG had over 100 monsters hunting styles and skills for all the weapons and Rise had more then world at launch and with the skills and monster soul skill the build verity was insane. Of Corse World did bring a lot of quality of life updates to the game that are nice and overall made the game easier to play and more approachable to new players so there's that.
Yes world isn't the most complete, but Gen 1 is easily the least complete of the bunch, MHGU is 3 generations of the same assets of course it would have a shit ton of monster, MHW is their transition to making/remaking new assets for the next generations of MH games and like tradition MHR is the last entry of it's generation which tends to be experimental and more hyper.
Capcom game lore and stories are pretty straight forward, if you're confused then it's skill issue.
Explain Frontier designs then
@@bloodmournethefirst1935Let’s take regular monsters and crank up the fantasy
@@glimn4839 still doesn’t explain Eruzerion, there’s nothing “normal” about… whatever THAT is
@@bloodmournethefirst1935 Listen, we don't talk about frontiers.
@@bloodmournethefirst1935they’re made by a separate team

I played through the entirety of Iceborne with the Wiggler Helm on.
Every cinematic was drastically improved.
Kinsects have dealt more final blows than my glave and I always found it funny.
My cat has dealt more final blows than me
7:50. Yes Yes You should
12:00 I did NOT expect that, i really don't
11:55 Holy fuck, Makari put on a flesh costume! Didnt see that one coming. 😂
So glad to see other IG mains.
Weapons in Rise both look and _feel_ better than World's 99% of the time.
I’m convinced that like 80% of people that started with world cannot enjoy any other MH game including stories D: show them the credit song from mhGen and watch them get angry XD

Damn it, now I want to redownload World again. Just so I can fail the epilogue/endgame hunts over and over again and join random event hunts
World will always be my favorite monster hunter game (unless wilds manages to change that)
Also, interesting fact about rise is that it's designed with a different ethos.

World held you down bc it slowly drags both feet and both hands as it slowly drags you across the victory line
I'm here from warframe to say: warcrimes are a plenty in video games
monster hunter world review part 2:
jokes on you there are actually 3 armorsets per (elder dragon) monster
As a charge blade user, I can assure you, the ranged weapons do all feel very different
dear god i cant believe im restarting this game on pc

Insect Lance Blades are my favourite weapon aswell.
This game is so fun and Monster hunter rise is fun as well. It's so fun to playing mhw with friends and trying out new weapons

I go back to every other MH I've played, except world.
I personally prefer the combat in and the world traversal in Rise.
Saying American Big game Hunter like England didn't take over Africa just to hunt big game.
If no long blade build why live?
as a wf player and still am
yeah de doesnt explain much at all

the story is super simple there is a background story in the monster hunter world but if you want that story then you need to buy the lore books

Absolutely terrible takes on monster hunter games
As someone who does warframe and mhw the end game of mhw has much more maths to it and said math can get pretty violent depending on who u ask
