Following on from your recent cornflake comparison, I tried Sainsbury's cornflakes at £1.00 per box (I think the same size Kelloggs was £2.50 or thereabouts). I had them with sweetened soya milk and they tasted great.

Seeing some of the junk that goes into the more processed burgers and the price of the posh ones made me wonder just how hard it could be to make your own from scratch. I tried last night. It’s a doddle! Half a pack of minced steak, one finely chopped onion, one egg, an assortment of herbs and spices. Took me 5 minutes to mix the ingredients. Left for an hour in the fridge then formed into four 5-ounce patties, for around £2.50 And they were spot on!
+1 for making your own as you know the quality of them that way. Had the gourmet ones before and they are nice and meaty. I think the ones with high meat content are nice and filling. Off to Asda tomorrow as the garden centre is next door so am going to try and get the Asda special ones you reviewed the other week, with parmesan and truffle or cheese and chilli. 😀

Have a go at making your own burgers. Gordon Ramsay has a good recipe. They are also delicious if you encase a little blue cheese inside the patty which oozes out when you bite in to it. You can freeze them too which makes it worth it.

Do you plan to do any more breakfast cereal comparisons, for example Kellogs Rice Krispies vs supermarket own brand equivalents? Do you include Lidl products? Hi not much difference in price per weight. The Gourmet Burger at 0.0123p per gram and the Heck Steak & Butter at 0.0125p per gram. Both different but both good quality.
Always buy Heck sausages,if the burgers are as good,then I'm a happy man.the butter makes the difference I reachon.both look lush so will look out as I'm the opposite to a vegetarian.ha ha.😋
