Almost every touch in this session was perfect and Matt plays in the USL championship. This just shows you have good pro players really are. Imagine how good are players in Europe's top 5 leagues
I don't think there's alot of difference in pro players technically(obviously differences r there) but the players in the top 5 leagues just have better decision making and can play good technically in a more consistent manner
@@the.minute-mindset yep. At a certain point, everyone is technically fantastic. The higher levels just make better decisions, faster and more consistently.
Keep in mind you’re also just seeing the best sets/rounds of every drill. There were mistakes I didn’t put in. But @the.minute-mindset is also spot on. Every pro has a really good grasp of the fundamentals. Faster, better, and more consistent decision making really is what separates the elite level pros from pros at my level in my opinion.
Superfam of Matt's but Sawyer's tight touch drill looked the tiniest bit more crisp. Edit: I watch these videos in 2X speed which makes the movement difference more apparent.
I love the conversations you have with players on camera! It’s those stories and anecdotes that make everyone’s individual journey so special! Glad to have been a small part of it once upon a time haha ❤️🙏 much love Matt!
Hahahaha those heckler stories are so funny 😂 Love a stadium where the supporters are close to the pitch. Detroit supporters are great to watch! That chat with Chase at the end was really awesome!
Hi Matt I just want to thank you for everything you've done your videos have really helped me, I have become a starter in my team I hope to be like you one day, please keep up the good work ❤❤
Matt saying he can't go anymore because of his quads at 8:40, lol. I felt that! Training with D1 kids and USL pros for one session last winter as a 35 year old who hasn't trained at that intensity in a similar drill in 6 years, I Felt that in my quads response....lol keep pushing Matt!.
Love to see every episode from your Off Season Series, Matt. Lately when you’ve released less videos, I feel like there’s a void in my life, a loss of role model to look up to. I also got married and a lot of my daily routines have been changed drastically, which made me feel so difficult to get back to football training and everything related to it. But watching your Off Season Series, I found the fire again. I know it sounds like I’m relying on you a lot, now I need to step up myself. Anw, always wanna thank you for all the nice things that you did and inspired people out there. Wish one day if you come to Vietnam for a vacation for instance, I’ll have a chance to meet you and even train with you. All the best, Matt ❤
Matt you are Living a life of so many youngsters and i also following you from 2017 and i love your dedicated mind to chase the dream of playing pro level and a learn so many things from you about football and mentality of a pro player and I'm gonna sign a pro contract in 2025 and you also helped me to reach there bro thanks a lot matt ❤.. We wish you a great future ahead and you will play your best level of football in 2025.. I'm praying for you brother 🙏❤😊✨
Could you please make a video about how we can schedule our day and week for maximum improvement and how to structure our training sessions based on what we want to work on? Thanks.
This is so true about going to watch a team train or tryouts. I took a couple of friends to tryout for a pdl team and like Matt said they needed someone to fill in they asked me to fill in. I did so well the coaches liked me and asked me if I was trying out but at that time I was 21 and married so no time for soccer.
Unbelievable session Matt, thanks for posting. Question: After training with Sawyer, how do you think 18yo Matt compared to him? In what areas do you think you've progressed and regressed since you were 18?
At 18, I was so unbelievably behind technically and tactically compared to where Sawyer is today haha. It's not even close. I've progressed my technical game the most probably, the tactical side second most, I've probably added on 20 lbs of lean muscle mass, and I've probably maintained or slightly regressed with my fitness/stamina.
Hello matt sheldon, I enjoy watching your videos and learned a lot from you, from drills to things to do off field. ❤ If I may ask I have a question i been having on my mind. How do i apply my match analysis or analysis of pro players to my practices and games?
Hi matt Qand A: How do you deal with when u play many games in a month for example when you play 4 11-a-side games in 2 weeks ? how do pro deal with it ?because I know august - October fixtures are intense for u and I have been following you since 2016 PS we are waiting for your collab with ronaldo's channel
As a young soccer player I am really looking at developing my game but it is hard to find one on one trainers. How do you have so much success at finding them. I know that you have pro experience and contacts, but as a young footballer how do you think I can find quality trainers.
Matt -- you've had a great career to date, but growing up, you didn't experience playing at an academy like the Timbers Academy. Do you think if you'd had that experience, that it would have given you the opportunity to reach higher levels than you've already achieved?
I have an awesome editor that edits 2 of my TH-cam videos per month as well as some short form content. I edit the other 2-3 videos per month. This video was edited by me!
Me and my friend were at Timbers training facility wrapping up our practice with the u15s, me and my friend really look up to Sawyer and see him as a roll model, we end up seeing him walking to the pitch while we are leaving. My friend says “hi Sawyer” acknowledging who he is and Sawyer proceeds to grunt at us while giving my friend a really nasty look and doesn’t even say a word back. I don’t get why Sawyer couldn’t have just said “Hi” back or something, just being an asshole…
Hey, sorry this happened it was not my intention! I must have not heard you guys. Next time if you see me please stop me and I’d love to chat for a bit. Thank you guys.
@ it’s okay Sawyer, my friend was just pretty brought down by the whole thing and was talking about how you should never meet your hero’s and saying stuff along those lines. He also did a research project about you at school, so he really looks up to you. Next time we see you he’ll be sure to go up to you and say Hi. Thanks for apologizing I appreciate that it was probably a misunderstanding.

Leave this man and his family alone. 😂
That sideline drill look so helpful, practicing for that moment down the line
Elite seasion, those drills were on another level 💪🏿🔥
Respect to Matt, boss!! When he was in Hartford, he was very kind to the community!!
Great Talk with Chase! Love it.
Well it is nice to see every child on the planet just walks to their parents with arms raised saying "UP!" :)

Editing is top tier

Top quality session that coach gave you
Underrated ❤
You gotta realize both of these guys are super fit so any faltering just shows you how hard this guy's training is
Great video Matt 😮

I'm in florida for a national tournament, and I just got the chance to watch this masterpiece!!
Question: what are your recommendations for winter and summer break if you play college soccer? Apart from "work on your strengths and weaknesses"
this kid is class
Hello matt sheldon, I enjoy watching your videos and learned a lot from you, from drills to things to do off field. ❤ If I may ask I have a question i been having on my mind. How do i apply my match analysis or analysis of pro players to my practices and games?

Matt awesome stuff. Forgot to ask, what psi do you inflate your soccer balls up to?
hoping we extend you in Detroit!
Hey Matt, I just wanted to get your opinion on doing ball mastery and dribbling drills barefoot (My boots are broken Rn 😅)
Bro even I got tired watching them training sessions
Q&A: Do you think that training programs such as train effective are worth it. Or are you best off finding drills from TH-cam or creating your own?
