The fenders weren’t tapping, ‘they were banging to get in,’ lol

This video really showcases the beauty of Reedham, despite the muddy moorings.

The moorings are an issue and looking at vlogs from previous years it appears to be an ongoing thing, hopefully the BA will spend some of the 13% Toll Increases in sorting it out. That aside Reedham is a lovely place.

Reedham is such a pretty village, but those muddy moorings are a bit of an eyesore.

The moorings were washed down before the season started on 1st April The two Rangers were on the job for two days

Thanks for sharing this glimpse into Reedham, Richard and Lisa! The moorings are a concern, though.

The beauty of Reedham is undeniable, but the muddy moorings are a bit of a downer.

As you will see in the video I managed to slip over 4 times in total. It was worth it as the walk through the village and down to the ferry was amazing.

I hope the Broads authority takes note of these comments and prioritizes cleaning up the moorings.

Learn a knot call Highwaymans hitch. Or bank robbers Hitch. Redo your lines with this knot and you can pull the lines whilst on the boat. I usually just do the centre cleat and let the bow and stern go. Then just pull the centre.

Excellent thank you, I am googling as it sounds the way to go until Lisa gets to grips with mooring the boat. Thanks again, Rich & Lisa

I'm surprised that the Broads authority hasn't taken action to clean up the moorings yet.

The account of the 2 crashed American B17s was told on the programme "Time Team", where they started to excavate the crash site. The planes are still there, well most of them are, the Time Team crew ecavated and removed various parts, BUT, the bulk of the planes are still lying a couple of metre`s under the marshes, they sunk back down quite quickly. If you look on youtube, you may find the programme there.

Hi Neil, I have to say that I really enjoy the positive comments and information that you provide, Lisa is looking this up now so we can mention it the next time we go to Reedham.

Thank you for commenting, yes I am aware that this is the case and did put the silting down to very high tides. I have been told that the moorings are least to the BA by the local council so wondered if they have some involvement in keeping it clear. Hopefully I’ve learned a little lesson about where to moor of season !

The moorings are not leased from Broadland District Council till 1st April each year - The Swing Bridge end had not been been effected as badly anyway as they are higher & not effected by the silt laden high tides all winter

@@WaggiesCruising Done before the Moorings opened on 1st April & new electric supplies installed to the posts to prevent tripping on high tides Odd the commenters had not listened to your commentary noting the other end of the quay which is a bit higher was nowhere near as bad - Certainly brought out the anti BA people

@@petersmith4659 It’s a thankless job so I’m led to believe as a high spring brings the silt back again
