    3:26 I love making flexible codes, I mean like going deep into programming is like playing RPG games, we start as a beginner who just know hello worlds, and then we start learning more things. I found that programming can be really flexible when I learn about Interface, I was so amazed. I learned inheritance before Interface, but It Just not good enough. But interface in other hand, it fixed my every problem at that time.
    I made my temporary perfect player and enemy controller, and until this day, it's still my best thing I've learned.

    I’m really looking forward to this game! It looks great! One thing which I’ve been thinking about your less linear progression system though - instead of the player choosing the order they unlock them through a menu, why don’t you allow them to choose by putting different challenges around the world, each with their own abilities locked behind them. I think doing it through a menu could ruin the immersion.

    • @LazyTeaStudios
      @LazyTeaStudios  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That is actually how it will work but instead of grabbing the specific ability you'll gain a point of sorts you can use to unlock the ability. Don't worry we have plans on how to make it more emersive and also tie all this into the story... We have a WHOLE secret zone dedicated to simply learning and using abilities you unlock (super secret for now tho so can't say more haha) but essentially yeah, you'll be exploring the world, talking different challenges and they will ultimately provide you with new abilities as you go

    the fact that you could go to uni to study game development, that there were precedents to follow and experts to learn from, that you had access to tools and resources to do the work, that those tools were advanced enough to allow you to focus on higher-level concepts, and that you could easily reach out to a pre-existing community for guidance and support... should not be understated or under-appreciated.
    this is *not* intended as criticism. it a plea to you as you begin your career.
    keep a day-job, using nights and weekends to do something else *entirely different and antithetical* to what your employer values or demands. make full use of this modern, low-overhead, resource-rich environment to make things that are truly *wonderful, interesting, and different*. build a small team that specifically includes people *well* outside of the game industry... even if they can't write code. and *never* use "i make youtube videos to teach others" or "i'm super busy now and don't have the time" as excuses for failing to do this.

    • @LazyTeaStudios
      @LazyTeaStudios  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I fully agree! In my latter years at uni I truly embraced what I wanted! Before then I didn't really understand what I wanted but since I've set in motion ways to make this sustainable.
      I'm part of many communities and even TH-cam gamedev specific ones. I have taken on additional studies and courses. And my fiance and I are planning to move to Latvia next year for a drastically lower cost of living and lifestyle to maintain this journey!
      Taking every opportunity we can and growing as a team and a community! We now have a shared goal and a means to attain it! 💪
