    Glad to see Emmitt Matthews return. Even though he left, he did not have any bad words to say about our coaches, or the fans. Welcome back to Mountaineer Nation.

      Just needed to be closer to home in the state of Washington for a while. After entering the portal last year, he called WVU.

    Huggins is a great coach he wins with less WVU great tradition, we will never be a blue blood but we will be competitive, hard working an Motown will always be a tuff place to play one of the greatest fan bases , don't understand people going public with BS attack players , negative fans hurt recruiting ,need to worry about being better fans ,I understand frustration, but need to to keep in check ,its a game and our guys put in alot of hard work and deserve respect. Been watching ,listening on radio since the late 60's love all those guys GOLD AN BLUE ,
    Great memories.

    This makes a lot of sense.Not a lot returners with alot of experience .Emmitt was at WVU long enough to help with that.Shocked but, it makes slot of sense.Always thought he was a good basketball player.With the lack of proven scorers Emmitt can step up and being the man.

      We have already signed two big men; Jimmy Bell & Mohammed Wague. We also have James Okonkwo coming back. They were planning to use the last spot on a wing player anyway I believe.

    Hey Couz! I love it! Emmitt is a good return to Morgantown. As you stated...he can be that leader we need in the locker room and on the court due to the youth on the team. He can also help on the offense and the defense (wish we had Gabe for one more....what a team it would be). Last, Emmitt's return will allow Hugs to redshirt his freshmen. Another thing you stated, there wasn't any bad feelings when Emmitt left or he wouldn't have returned to Morgantown. I bet Hugs is happy having him back too! Hey, will we still have one scholarship to use? Later Couz! Goooo Mountaineers!!!

    • @CouzsCornerSports
      @CouzsCornerSports  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, apparently that was the last scholarship. However, Huggs said he may still add one more? 🤷‍♂️ Maybe he thinks someone will leave.

    Definitely not a bad one. In a perfect world, I'd have emmit AND an elite scorer out there. But based on the guys I've seen that WVU has been in contact with, I like emmit the best

    Great news. He was a pretty good facilitator/leader when he was here the first time. Sometimes that’s better than any individual numbers. I wonder if this sign that some of his former teammates are thinking about about return as well.

  • @06BIBOI
    @06BIBOI 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have zero problem with him returning , I by far would not say the same about every athlete who's transfered out of here !

  • @wvscififan
    @wvscififan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    He definitely has the potential to be our best player this year. He has had somewhat regular flashes of his breakout game against Texas Tech as a freshman, and has shown the willingness to to really fight for rebounds. The problem was always consistancy, and that usually develops over time. Here's hoping he is basketball's version of David Sills.

      One thing I wonder.... what will the narrative be about Huggs if Jalen blossoms into a star at Baylor the year after Oscar did at UK?? I'm not rooting against the kid, but God I don't want people to think Huggs can't develop players either!!

    • @CouzsCornerSports

      @@CouzsCornerSports okay if you say so but I don't agree with it where was the loyalty when he left the program?
      Just like these college football players that opt out of the bowl games just because they don't make it to a bowl game they want to be in and leaves their teammates high and dry that just shows the lack of loyalty to their program
