And I’m not gonna buy a kit, would rather custom make something for cheaper. I found a traditional front mount that should work with the front grille, just gonna need end tanks welded on.
you should make the 07k swap information public. That video series would pay for itself and some. Everyone wants an 07k or vr6 swap for their late model vws
Wow, car is amazing! I just caught the first video you posted about it and now this update as an introduction to your channel, enjoyed the details - love geekin out on this stuff. Sorry to hear you had to do part with some parts (no pun intended) to keep a float but you'll get all that stuff back and better over time, patience is key. Keep up the fab work at these levels and you'll have bank to build whatever you want for sure. You know, I happened into a 07' GTI where the original owner had dropped some serious money into the car, Garett 3071, drop in IE Rods, water/meth kit for safety and suspension and basically all you need to turn a golf into a tire baking machine. I've since had the car back to the tuner (also the person who built the engine) twice and picked up 99 WHP the first time.. and I just got back this past Friday and picked up like an additional 90 again.. its a MK5 FSI. The car is a total beast, made 417whp/353wtq and that's with a little leak on my exhaust and possibly at the flex on the downpipe, I'm gonna work to get that fixed this week. I'm just using the golfs factory electronic limited slip so that will likely be on the horizon.. Ill probably do the whole trans over at that time because it makes the most sense and I'm a little grindy into 5th, tuner says its the syncro. I don't know if there are better trans for my 07' GTI than the 6-spd that it came with but if you happen to know of any let me know. Other than that stuff, I think I'm gonna direct my work towards interior mods and lighting and what not, your build is super tasteful man and I'm sure an inspiration to many. I'd love to learn more about the interior mods for sure and your lighting mods. I know the freshness of being one of the only ones with a mod in a certain way is appealing but share the love, it will pay dividends when you see it on other cars. My tuner took a MK6 GTI and AWD converted it, essentially made it a MK6R - its a White one on their TH-cam Channel. He mentioned the inline5 is his favorite engine, I think if he caught this video, he'd have to feel inspired to take that on for his but he is building a legit 1000hp race car right now.. check out their channel, you may have already seen some of their content.. they're a big tuner for VW in my part of the world, I'm sure you'll love their content - www.youtube.com/@COMotorsports Cheers mate!

I just find it awesome that the 2.5 can be swapped into our cars, and have lusted after it for a long time. Which trans did you use? If it blew up, I'm leaning toward the R's 02Q, not the MT500 from the RS, if they're interchangeable, that is. I would 110% like a diy on turning the DRLs into turn signals. That shit looks absolutely fantastic. And the sequential mirror lights are aftermarket mirrors, yeah? Anyway, definitely enjoyed getting up to speed on this build and looking forward to more videos in the future, man! Godspeed!

I’ve been getting a lot of requests for a DIY so I’ll likely do that one day-just want to enjoy being one of the only people with it for now lol.

Seems like you didnt replace the stretch bolts on the transmission mounts and/or brachet. You have damage the shift linkage of shifter box, as to why it didn't go into gear and you are making those specific noises.
Hey here’s the deal with the trans. it does go into gear but it’s seized…something broke off inside the trans and is bouncing around in there. I’ll make a video of me splitting open the case to investigate. fyi this isn’t a trans mount bolt or shifter linkage issue, I appreciate you trying to help though.

The ecu harness is a pretty big one. Immo defeat for the ecu. Shave the bellhousing.
