Loved your video about the city of Jerome. I have been fortunate to have been to Jerome quite many times beeing on vacation from Sweden. My latest visit was in 2018. When i saw your video i really want to go back again. Love Jerome and i love the state of Arizona. You do fantastic work with your videos about Arizona. Thank You from 🇸🇪
As a 14-year-old boy (1960), I lived in Bridgeport, my father was the area manager of the Verde Valley for the Arizona Republic. After dropping off paper bundle to paper carriers thur out Cottonwood & Clarkdale would go up to Jerome. And because there were so few residents in Jerome, he had to deliver the papers himself, all but a couple were thrown onto porches thru the window from the cab of our 1956 Chevy pickup. Seeing this video is amazing because there are a lot more people & business than there was 62 years ago. Thank you for the memory
I know where Bridgeport is !! I’ve lived there , Cottonwood & Clarksdale !! I have family in Cottonwood & i absolutely love Jerome !!! I no longer live in Az but have lots of memories !! Transplant to South Central Kansas!
This brought back happy memories for me. I stayed at The Grand hotel and didn't have a haunting. I did experience spirits on the Ghost Tour. That tour is a must. You will have an encounter.
Jerome is the reason we moved to Arizona from oregon (among quite a few other reasons) we live in chino valley and frequent the area quite often. Amazing place no matter how often you visit
As long as you don’t vote for the country killing democrats when you settle here. There’s a reason why Republican areas are nice and democrat areas are complete shitholes..
My father-in-law was born in Jerome in what in now known as the Jerome Grand Hotel. His 2 younger brothers were also born there. His grand father and father both worked for the copper mine. They lived in a house on what was known as the hogback. His family lived there till the start of WWII. There is a book on a table in the Jerome Grand with pictures of my FIL and his family taken back in the 30's. My wife and I have visited there a couple times. My wife has offered to have us take him to Jerome one last time but at 91 years old, he would rather stay home.
I've been twice and will surely go there again! I did the ghost tour and used spirit boxes 😁 That was fun!. A lot of history there. Such a neat little town.
Was in Arizona back in July… Spent a few days in Cottonwood, visited Jerome and Sedona before heading to the Valley to visit friends… Lived-in Arizona back in 2004-2007…. Loved Arizona and miss it terrible
@@w.toddchessor4837 we came from oregon. Best move ever. Go through Tennessee about twice a month by vehicle. I would say if we didn’t live in Arizona I would consider Tennessee
What a cool video, Jeff! Makes me want to come and see the area again- that drive up into Jerome out of Prescott and then back down again into Cottonwood on the other side is something else!
I've always thought of Az as a dry hot place with not much to see or do. This last year I've been to Tombstone, Bisbee, Sedona, Flagstaff, Prescott, Williams, and the Grand Canyon. Arizona absolutely blows away Texas with it's natural beauty and things to do. I live in Houston with 9 months of terrible weather a year and a 13 hour drive to the nearest mountain town. I hope to move to Az one day.
Since I live in the Verde Valley, I appreciated this walk/drive about tour. However, I find it hard to believe you didn't include the museum at the Jerome State Park. All of the people who have visited me comment that this museum is the best part of the tour....Just saying1
oh my gawsh & the new Cornish Pasties realllly makes you feel like everything is in costume, having been eatin originally by the Miners is Phenomenal❤❤ We accidentally ran into it on our way from the public lot across the street!
On a camping/road trip a few years ago we went thru Jerome on a Friday afternoon in March. It was so packed with visitors and we could not even find a place to park anywhere. I had really wanted to check it out but we just kept on driving unfortunately. Oh well maybe next time. But how often am I in this neck of the woods? Once in a lifetime.
Watched a old Chev commercial ,The Waterboy, where they hauled a truck trailer up to Jerome with a 6 cylinder Chev car, wondered what it looked like today Regards
Nice place, I was there last year, when I went is was very busy and parking was hard to find at the top of the city. The road to the top is tight and winding, I had some idiot riding my bumper as I navigated the tight turns, must have been a local.
My father was born there. His dad was from Cornwall England and came to U.S. and mined. Not sure if he mined there in Jerome. The mining in Cornwall gave out in late 1800s.
A word of note: The speed limit is 20 and the cops are very aggressive in that town. 2nd: the town made the decision a few years ago to make money on the tourists, so they installed parking meters. It will cost you now to park and visit the town. The meter maid is also very aggressive and you can see her giving out tickets throughout the town. The motorcyclists have now abandoned the town and the bars are suffering, especially the Spirit room where they use to have bands every weekend. Those days are now gone. The town itself is fun to walk around and explore. Many cool stores there. The town suffers from very poor leadership and is now something less than it use to be.
the police officers enforce the 20 m.p.h. speed limit beeeecaaaauuuusssee the visitors like to wander into the streets or stop in the middle of them to take photos. annnnnndddd, the town has 100 year old water and sewer pipes so the meager $4 to park ALL DAY goes into a fund that repairs and replaces some of that infrastructure - the very same infrastructure that accommodates hundreds of visitors a day who flush, flush, flush. also, parking enforcement is necessary to keep visitors out of neighborhoods so that residents have a place to park. motorcyclists have not abandoned the town and the spirit room is still an awesome place. who are you anyway?
I lived Sedona , back in the early 90s, and Jerome was my favoite place to go, on the weekend with all the shops and I'd sit on those concrate steps overlooking the vally towards Flagstaff, and listing to the music in the air coiming from the bar, not sure if it was the spirt room or the one across the street from it, but watching this video, it looks like things have changed some,
I like high elevation, and since this is "America's Most Vertical City", I'm tempted to make the 700 mile round trip drive from Los Angeles, to Jerome, and back.
Unfortunately Amazon has stopped delivering to Jerome, they say it is to difficult for them. The USPS gets the job done. Amazon will be dumping other less profitable places too.

I used to live in Cottonwood & Clarkdale beautiful places :)
And Clarkdale!
@@roderichroby6236 definitely clarkdale too!
When I visit Arizona I usually do 2 days in Sedona and one day in Jerome it's the perfect little combo.
I been to Jerome, Arizona twice, and absolutely loved it. You just don't find places like that. Bisbee, Arizona is awesome too. 😁👍
Tombstone también está increíble 💯

Jerome is one of my favorite places to explore in Arizona! The views from up there are absolutly stunning! 🏜
Agree too
Jerome is my absolute town in AZ. It's a must to visit when in AZ. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! Just discovered my uncle was Sheriff John William Hudgens. I've fallen down the rabbit hole of all things Jerome, AZ
Beautiful city and country ❤️
I agree too. Looks like there's plenty of stuff to do in Arizona

I’ve traveled through Jerome a few times and I remember eating at a Mexican restaurant that had delicious food.
You can spend a week in that area. The Verde valley is awesome. Highly recommend. Bisbee is similar and just as cool.
Thanks for this tour Jeff! I was just saying I want to go back to Jerome. We missed seeing alot since the last time we went 👍🏻

Wonderful this Main Street Tour! I´ve been in my favourite AZ town in the eighties: Three times, sorry I had never a comeback from old Germany!
One of my favorite hangout towns!!!
I love visiting Jerome. I need to go back but on a motorcycle. So cool to see another video out!

Stayed at the Connor hotel twice. Had a few beers at the Spirit Room. Love the haunted hamburger.
Cool place. Haunted Hamburger has a great view. The ghost tour we did was fun, creepy and borderline scary.

Eugene Jerome's cousin was Jennie Jerome, who was Winston Churchill's mother. And who, like Ivana Trump, died from falling down the stairs.
The Spirit Room is my favorite honky tonk!
Wherever i may Jerome.

Where do people in motorhomes park? I didn't see any RV's in your video.

Just left Jerome I was there for 1hour disappointing run down same stuff in stores as everywhere absolutely not worth it
What about possibly illegal immigrants in some of these locations that you showcase?? Wouldn't that be a problem????
Been to Arizona a number of times, never had any issues with illegal immigrants. They look like 50% of the legal population of the state.
