- Take a tour of this old, 40-room mining hotel turned private home! The Little Daisy was built in 1919 in Jerome, Arizona to house miners. Eventually, it fell into disrepair and was stripped down to a concrete shell. The Acker's purchased the property in the 1990's and rebuilt it using the original blueprints. Now, the hotel-turned-house features 12,000 square feet of indoor living space, a 2,900-square-foot wraparound porch, a 9,000-square-foot rooftop garden and a 2,600-square-foot garage. An iconic piece of Arizona history has new life!

I was at this place 25 years ago at a music festival and at that time there was nothing … it was practically a ruin. I think they did an amazing job.
Wow, that’s awesome to have seen it before the transformation! Have any photos?
I was there almost thirty years ago in 1995. Yes, it was practically a ruin back then.
I think Ghost Adventures did I show there.
This is how you treat an old building ; make something usefull of it with respect; Job well done !!!
Amen! Attention to detail and incorporate the history!
lol 😂
Useful for what? For whom? Just for one family to enjoy? Should've turned it into a prison instead.
One imagines warm Arizona nights in the rooftop garden. With very little light pollution, stargazing would be superb. A pitcher (or two) of margaritas, a gathering of close friends up for the weekend, and memories being made. 👍
Oh wow, that sounds like the good life right there!
Yes or I think slab city
I am so impressed how they renovated this building using the philosophy of restore rather than just replace. Anyone would be honoured to live there!
I agree 100% Not many people take the time to do that! This building deserved to be brought back to life with class, and they did just that!
How sad that the husband passed away and it could not be their forever home. They did an amazing restoration. So beautiful. How about a home for elderly ladies. Not a nursing home, just rent/buy a room and meals. If they become ill and no longer independent then move to another more appropriate living situation. I would be the first to buy my room!
I know! After all that work, and he didn't get to enjoy the reward for very long! : ( That's a great idea! I like it!
It’s the flaw in our male dna. We strive to achieve and conquer, only to die at the gates while the queen rules on.
I agree ... This would be a perfect retirement community.
I’ve seen TH-cam videos on castles that have done sales to elderly. Consolidating some of the rooms into small apartments. The complications are many. I wouldn’t touch that with a 10 foot pole.
Breathtaking! Beautifully Restored!
They did such a great job!! Beautiful with every detail!
It would be great as a bed and breakfast or a wedding event.
Yes!!! I believe you can have events there!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful 🤩
So beautiful!!!
When I was a child back in the 60’s me and my parents came through Jerome on our way to Tucson. I remember the old hotel in the hill. Wonderful to see how well it was restored. The top floor is fabulous and I’d be up there all the time in the cooler months. Congratulations on a job well done.
That is so cool that you saw it before it was a tourist spot! Yes, the rooftop is great, and the views are unreal!
People with drive and vision can make amazing things happen.
It looks like Walter and you did a lot of the work yourselves.
My hat is off to you.
Walter devoted his life to this place. Every square inch was detailed!
WOW!!!!! What a wonderful restoration. I'm glad you didn't tear what was left down to the ground and start over. We would've lost an important part of history. You gave it life again for new families to enjoy.❤
You know, that's what most people would have done! They would have seen a big pile of concrete and just demolished it! I agree with you, so glad history was saved and brought back to life!
Absolutely stunning!
It’s a gem!
It’s amazing to see that they kept what made the hotel special! It’s stunning in such an unusual little town (for AZ) Driving thru Jerome reminds me of Italy! Thanks for the tour.
So amazing!! And the relics from the town of Jerome that are in this place is really cool to see, like a surgical light turned into a table, and the old sink from the hospital!
I lived in Flagstaff in the late 1950's and as a kid visited Jerome with my parents. Great to see a historic old building saved and restored beautifully. Thank you!
That's amazing! I would have loved seeing Jerome and Flagstaff in the 50's!
I drove past this on a road trip when I was staying out in Sedona, AZ - didn't expect it to look so cool inside. It would make for a great wedding venue on that rooftop
It definitely catches your eye! It's incredible. You actually can get married there!
Wo! ... Wow! Wow!!! I'm at a loss for words - It's stunningly beautiful!
I know! Wow is right! It's unbelievable!
WOW!!! What a wonderful revival of this historical site and building. I hope it always stays occupied for the enjoyment of the families who live there.❤
It's currently be used as a place to stay and a wedding venue....the owners who renovated it sold it a few years ago because the husband sadly passed away just 6 months after completing what was to be their forever home : (
Fantastic
Amazing restoration!
I agree! They did such a great job!
Beautiful!! You brought that town back to life. I'm glad you didn't build a beverly hills mega mansion. s. I think Disney made a movie named "CARS" that exactly fits the history of Jerome and your restoration expirence perfectly. 1
.. The only thing missing is the talking tow truck. 😂
Amen!! Preserving history is the best!
Every time I have been here I have to have time to just gaze at this beautiful place. I love it, love the work they did. This place is true love
Absolutely!! It's impossible to see every detail during just one visit!
Lovely! I visited Jerome in the very early 90s. What a masterpiece!
At that point this was just a concrete shell! I bet it was less touristy in the 90's!
Amazing job they did, bravo!
So amazing!! Thank you for watching!
It's just beautiful! I visited the wreck of this in the early 80s on a motorcycle trip. It is incredible to see it all restored! Jerome is a cool town with winding roads, going up, up, up.
That's amazing! Cool to see it then and now!
@@WildWestRealtor Yes, kind of mind-blowing, really! I really appreciate this chance to see it beautiful and transformed.
absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
It really is!!
Amazing transformation!!
The wall of gloves would be something cool to do at your place!!
Wow, amazing. Visited Jerome Arizona in the early 80's and remember seeing the skeleton of a building. Truly an amazing restoration 🎉❤
That's so cool that you saw it back then! It really is an amazing building!
Such hard work and you all did an exquisite job!!
Down to the smallest details!!
Beautifully done!
It's beyond cool!
Very nice place
Incredible!!!
I agree!!!
That’s something really special 😊
So special!!
Wonderful! I visited Jerome during a tour of the S.W. in 2001, and remember being intrigued by the mysterious ruin on a nearby hill. It looked so imposing and substantial, and I thought how magnificent it would be to restore it. Little did I know . . .
Wow, so in 2001 they would have been in the thick of starting the massive undertaking of renovating this building! They were probably in there sawing wood during your visit!
WOW! Just beautiful.
It really is something special!!
Just Wow!
I know! Wow is right!
Very nice, good job 👏
An absolutely outstanding job! More historic American buildings should be restored as well vs. being demolishds or left to ruin. However, were it mine I'd also restores maybe 20 of the original number of rooms (40) and actually make half of the building a hotel again (I'd live in the other half) -- or maybe a B&B (except the top (3rd) floor is gone so maybe there's no space anymore for hotel rooms).
If making it into a B&B at least it'd be a nice "out of the way" (never even heard of Jerome AZ!) vacation location. And that also would offer employment opportunities for locals who could be the B&B/hotel staff.

Beautiful
It really is!!
FABULOUS!
I agree!!!
That place is awesome.
SO AWESOME!!!
Awesome! Great job!
They did such a great job!
Lovely!
It really is!
Absolutely beautiful, what a great job they did. I moved to camp Verde in 1979 I lived in lake Montezuma for a while. My aunt bought a property on top of a hill in rim rock . Beautiful area.
That's incredible!! Arizona is the best!
Beautiful.
So beautiful!!
amazing job! I hope you're really enjoyed the fruits of your labor.
The details are incredible! It’s a massive place!
The Daisy is stunning ❤
Yes!!!!! So stunning!
Fantastic 😊
It really is! Walking through it is such a great experience!
This is what hard work results in...
It wasn't a get it done fast job, that's for sure! They took their time to get it right!
Nice, beautiful place really cool
So cool! Thank you!
That is awesome, I was in Jerome last fall for lunch and saw this place, I wondered if it was a house or what, and now I know.
So awesome! It definitely draws your attention when pulling into town!
Wow, I hope it is open to the public again one day.
You can actually rent it......for $3000 a night! Wowzers!
Definitely a labor of love.
Yes! Took some serious dedication!
Nice job. Lesser people would make it look like a bordello!
Or make it look like a modern 2024 hotel with neon signs and flamingos! Glad they stuck to preserving the history of what it actually looked like!
that is an awesome restoration and a really beautiful home ! way over my means though! but am happy for you all ! nice home !!!
It's a lot to take care of, that's for sure!
Amazing place
It really is!
3:10 I have an identical antique mantle clock! Had it for years. It has a beautifully crafted key to wind it. Never thought about its value, just love the clock. I'm the only one that winds it, Won't trust anyone else to do it. A clock with old world charm, beautifully crafted.
Wow, I bet there's a lot of history behind your clock!
@@WildWestRealtor I'm sure there is. I was so surprised to see it in this video. I've lived all over the world. Being a polyglot is so helpful for someone who doesn't just visit or vacation outside the USA, I lived in other countries.
For many years I had a hand carved French mahogany bed that had been well cared for before I acquired it. I don't know its age. I'm guesstimating 600 years. It had been a gift to me. I gifted it to someone else; he loves it as much as I did.
Knew it was Jerome as soon as I saw the picture!
It's a unique town, that's for sure!
Id get lost in that place, looks amazing
Definitely easy to get lost. It's huge!
Wow!
Wow indeed!
Maint maint maint have a good maint budget and full time help
Oh yes, massive amounts of maintenance!
This might be the coolest house is AZ. They did an insane job on the restoration!
I agree 100%! Nothing compares to it!
Really nicely done, thank you for saving it. Would have been cool to have saved and refurbished a couple of the old hotel rooms, but that's just me.
I know! I wonder what they even looked like? Probably just rooms with bunk beds? When the owners who renovated it bought it in the 1990's, it was just concrete, so nothing was left that would even remotely look like a hotel to refurbish. They had to recreate this out of thin air!
First hand? First class place to stay. Clean, well kept great staff.
Amazing!!
You should turn this into a undivided interest.
it's a winner!
Yep! Definitely a winner!
Wow. Nicely done 😮 Seems sad that it sold for just 1.9 million in 2020 after being listed for 6.2 million for over two years. Bad timing I guess.
I know!!! It should have sold for sooooooo much more! Tough sell though in that little ghost town!
It should be able to make Jerome even more of a destination spot! Would take some classy advertising and focus on historical preservation and so much history has to offer, to appreciate. Gee, something new for the those who have eliminated history and its value from the mainstream.
I do believe people are starving for this kind of appreciation and such value brought back to life. Look at all that have been traveling and trying to get back to nature. Or is it just me? Isn’t the “selfie world” finally passe? Getting back to true history and experiencing the richness and vibe of it all rather than ignore it and take a selfie and move on. THIS place deserves expression and appreciation. ❤❤❤
We used to explore the Little Daisy hotel top to bottom in the 60s and 70s when it was an abandoned hulk. The head of the historical society told me it was originally built to accommodate the miners because of it's close proximity to the mine, but it wasn't popular with the miners and they used it little. The reason why is that the hotel was a distance from the town where all the bars and whore houses were located.
That is such a cool history nugget! That makes total sense!! Would have been a far walk to get to all the action! : ) An awesome that you explored it back then. I wish you had some photos of it!
I saw this place in about 2015 and hoped someone would do something with it.
It's a beautiful place!
I could probably bet that the owner wanted to recoup money from his employee's and even had Ladies of the Night there to entertain the paying customers. I'm a retired Building Contractor and I have to say they did an excellent job renovating the building!
They didn't do anything fast. Took their time and did it right!
One word kept popping up as I watched. Wow. Mad respect. I am wondering how much the total renovation cost.
Wow indeed!! I'm not sure how much the renovation cost, but it took them a long time to complete. Originally purchased the concrete shell in the 90's for about $190,000.
Sensational! Thank you!
Wait, they did all this to sell it? That could be a tough proposition, even with all its great points.
This was going to be their forever home, but the husband sadly passed away just 6 months after they completed it! So it was just too sad and too much property to keep up with!
@@WildWestRealtorOh, that's so sad, that he didn't have much time to enjoy it!
@@WildWestRealtor No wonder the wife looks so sad announcing the sale -- poor woman.
@@WildWestRealtorthank you for explaining further. This video left me wondering just that.
Stunning! No swimming pool???
I know!! This place needs a rooftop swimming pool!! : )
I would have turned it into a condo building. There is a market for one- and two-bedroom units just about everywhere. And such units are easy to sell compared to an eight-bedroom mansion in rural Arizona that must cost a lot to heat in winter and cool in summer.
That is definitely possible with this building. The owners who renovated it planned on it being their private forever home, but the husband passed away just 6 months after completion, so that's why it ended up being for sale.
Jerome is a neat place if you like walking up steep streets...
haha! I know, definitely an exhausting adventure in that town!
the so called open air rooftop use to be ....a roof....made of sheets of copper.
So much copper pulled out of that place!
Good luck finding parking in Jerome..
I know! Parking is always a mess up there!
👁👁 beautiful…👏👏 6:29
I agree!!
I could live there real easy m
Same!!
Exactly what I would have done!
Yes!! Save history!
Beautiful place,,, I wonder , is it for sale ????
As of right now, it is NOT for sale! But, that could always change in the near future! : o
Bet that was a great place to be during the pandemic ?
Lots of room that's for sure!
@@WildWestRealtor What was the western movie playing on the home theater? One strange question does it have a in door bowling alley?
The tile-less roof on the corridor is weird to me, it's not like it never rains, snows, or gets hot around there. Otherwise, good job on the restoration & remodeling.
It does look like when it was originally built, the entire 3rd floor and balcony were covered, but when it was stripped clean, the roof was removed. I guess they were just keeping the theme of the roof and balcony up there all being open to the elements.
Nice property! How much are you selling it for?
The current owner is using it as event space and you can rent it!
Had to slow down the video so I could see everything. mMade the music creepy, but one-second scenes just wasn't long enough.
25,000 sqft is a lot of space to cover! : )
I wonder if it has a private entrance into a mine tunnel?
I went down into the basement, and didn't see anything that connected from the inside.....but I bet there something out around the property!
Looks great, but is it haunted?
If only the walls could talk!
It’s the Jerome museum?
No the museum is just down the hill from this. You can actually rent the Little Daisy and stay there!
@@WildWestRealtor I’m assuming all homes up there cost a lot ?
There’s usually not much for sale in Jerome. Right now only 4 listings. Ranging from $399k up to $1M.
Must be nice to have that kind of money
I think people use monopoly money in Arizona! ; )
Needs an indoor pool
Or a rooftop pool!!!
Great place to ride out a zombie apocalypse
Oh yeah! Although, I feel like this is where the zombie's would hide out and congregate! : o
The heat and air must cost a fortune.
Oh yeah! I don't want to see that bill!
The owner said she was going to give it to someone else who was ready to enjoy it.
NO...they have been trying to sell it for years
It already sold. The new owner allows it to be rented and or used for events.
How much is it?
This sold a few years ago! It’s not currently for sale.
No listing or MLS number information???? Not even a contact given for the listing Real Estate Agents. More information should have been provided.
Hi David. This property isn't for sale. Just a fun tour of a unique property.
*some people have every kinda money to spend on anything, everything, anywhere & everywhere. However, better investment than stupid multi millions of 💲 yatch. Desert towns have their own charm.find peace*
I agree!! I’d put my money into a property like this with history any day over a mountain side new modern home built with 2024 quality!! 😬
How much??
Sold for $1.9M in 2020 : o Imagine what it would sell for now!
**Shot on iPhone**
Wasn't this in a movie?
You know, I'm not sure! It definitely should be in a movie! I'll have to look into that!
Where did you get all the money to do this?
The people who renovated it bought it in the 1990's for $190,000. They spent many many many years fixing it up, slowly.
Wasn't this also used as a hospital at one time??
There are the old hospital buildings up on the hill closer to the town, one is the Jerome Grand Hotel and the other building is rented it out to various businesses. I'm not sure if the Little Daisy was ever used as a temporary hospital or not.
@@WildWestRealtor
Thank you for your quick reply.
Take care and have a safe weekend.

I was thinking of
The old Jerome Grand Hotel the most haunted place 👻👻 in Arizona.
Oct 18, 2016 - It's believed that nearly 9,000 people died in the Jerome Grand Hotel during its previous life as United Verde Hospital.
@@ebenezerwheezer2957 Oh yes! The Jerome Grand Hotel is very haunted. My wife and I stayed a night there! We heard what sounded like a sick man coughing in the room next to us (the room was not occupied), we heard a gurney rushing down the hallway towards what used to be the surgical suite....we didn't sleep very well that night haha!
@@WildWestRealtor
That's funny.
It was about 15 years ago. My wife and I were there in Jerome. When it got dark my wife said I want to get out of here and we left. She had a big case of the heebie-jeebies.
