Another good video. But sometimes I have a hard time trying to figure out exactly what you are trying to do sometimes. Probably because I am not an expert on this game and it seems to have a lot to it. But still learning what is possible and how to accomplish it. Thanks!

'Hard time to figure out exactly what I'm doing', glad I'm not the only one thinking that. Kind of all over the place (pun intended) with these trips away. I think basically I'm just after distance/time for the spawns to happen, chasing hydrogen thrusters mostly. I'm at the point where everything else is just topping up on inventory, I've got a fairly good stockpile now.

I have yet to see that truck on the top, or the warehouse near the end. They look pretty interesting.
I wonder if the feast/famine you have with things popping up is to do with unclaimed grids you have? There's a bunch of stuff in the stomper storage drawer, and the stuff on the roof... had a quick read up on the MES documentation (clearly explains the various settings and what they do, but not great on the general info) but there seems to be a maximum number of spawned "installations" in the area around you (i'll skip the numbers involved in case you don't want the magic ruined). I wonder if the red grids are counting towards that even though you've chopped them off the grid they came from? (and it seemed the Barge, when heading out empty, was far more generous?)

I'm going to say no, because when the Stomper was fully laden on narrow land bridge just a day or two before reaching the new lakeside location, I had things spawn around me left right and center, yet other times I've gone out empty and been slim pickings. I tend to think maybe it's random, and when things are truly random, they often don't seem random at all, it's the MP3 player problem.

Luck can be a fickle mistress indeed
