$6000 dollar McLearan stuff, $50 Harbor Freight wheel dollys next to the couch to roll the real car around. Love it.
McWhatnow?? 🤣
@@piuthemagicman McDonalds
Reminds of the greatful dead song that mentions about a motorcicle driving around inside a house not contrasting quite proper, though entirely possible.
McLearan Pee one :priceless
I'm sure if they did $50 P1 memorabilia, he would of got that instead. :P
600LT owner here, not P1. But I think the USB is supposed to be plugged into the car near the center console and used with McLaren track telemetry option so it can record videos of you on the track or driving around doing donuts if you choose. It offers all kinds of stats like throttle position, braking position, timing, etc. You can then plug the usb into your computer and view the videos with McLaren's PC software.
Spot on & right!
I admire your vehicle and your knowledge of the USB drive
just the comment i was looking for. thanks
Yours came with sand
@ovipositron1 no I did not spec my McLaren with the sand and ocean water package
You absolutely should get a model of your McLaren P1 but in the same state as you found it, with the shattered window, sand everywhere, destroyed wheel, bent body, etc. Of course it should be in box to contain all the sand and branches
I got a die-cast p1 for $8 from Lowes. The doors open, and the wheels move. Would make a much better gift for your kids. At that price you could probably afford to do one in Salt water.
I got a hot wheels P1 for $1, so I could have a fleet of 500000+ for the price of Freddy’s, and they would be just as drivable
Every time I go in Lowe's I buy one of those. Yeah, they are pretty good models.
Kinsmart brand?
If you ever get a (super rare) chance, have a look at a McLaren F1 owners manual as well. If you think the P1 came with a book that impresses the F1 manual will blow your mind. Hagerty has an article on how it was made that will give you an idea of how much effort went in to making it.
I'll never get enough of your P1 content man
This is the greatest car rebuild ever
Noticed something similar to my 570S owners manual. McLaren likes huge margins and small silver font. My owners manual is just about impossible to read if your over 70 years old. Also, it's twice as thick as it has to be because of the huge margins on each page. It also doesn't help that the paper is very glossy so the small silver/grey font doesn't show up as well as you would hope. You have to wonder why😮
Let jack host! Such a good guy
The model is probably resin and not die-cast, that's why it can't open since resin models are cast from a single block. Still very cool though.
To make a more realistic diorama, you could place a model tree next to the scale mode of the P1 and encase both in resin, just up the roof line of the car! It would be a perfect recreation of the fateful journey your car has been through.
I wouldn't suggest doing that to a $5000+ scale model though. There are cheaper diecast models of the P1 that he can get for about $200-300 and create a diorama using those
He’d need to get a tiny toilet to park it on
@@yash.kapoor MotorMax makes one you can get for like $20 in 1/24 scale, which would be better yet
@@benimes9648 yes that would make more sense, although for someone who's just bought a $5000+ scale model, I think he could splurge some more on a model with more accurate casting and tighter panel gaps.
@@yash.kapoor I agree, the MotorMax one isn't very good. I was so excited when I saw on in a store till I started inspecting it.
i love that Jack is of all trades...mechanic, youtuber and cameraman....Tavarish go pay your man well haha....i would feel ripped off even if i could afford a P1...plastic toy car that can't even move and just a book...no way worth 6k....btw i think i speak for everyone that we forget that Tavarish has kids when he is a big kid himself haha...i guess you could write off the 6k spending on the accessories and everything else as a business cost...you even got a loan from the bank to pay for the P1...once it runs and cleaned up I am sure you can recoup all your money easily...
Jack is an amazing guy
His dry ,, deadpan humor is great and he knows his stuff on rebuilds..
what color is your McLaren?
The views will go a long way to pay for that car, plus once it runs and is valuated it’s now an asset that will at least have a stable worthiness if not appreciate in value
The flash drive is for the telemetry system, so your track drives can be recorded onto it using the car's built in track telemetry system and cameras.
Hey Freddy, if you decide NOT to spring for the McLaren hood badge, you should make a really nice version of the symbol you showed in the book at 4.48 into the video.
I’ve not been in a P1 but I was lucky to be a passenger in the F1 back in the early ‘90s at the test track in Woking in the UK. The driver was Mclarens chief test driver.
Pretty amazing! That must be very special
@@iaf_fnd It was. A friend won a competition and we spent the day at McLaren cars/racing so got to to go around the place watching people building the F1. It was like being in an operating theatre as it was spotless. I only live 15 minutes from there so see quite a few of them on the road.
@@benje302 what an incredible opportunity that must have been! The dream for any car enthusiast. I wish I could travel to england for mclaren events like these 😅
@@benje302what test track? They don't have one at Woking... maybe the Longcross circuit? Fairoaks airfield?
@@richardharrold9736 The test track was not at their Woking site. It was one that was about 20 minutes away as far as I remember. Not officially theirs but they were allowed to use it.
I attended the 12C launch in Vancouver and got one of those McLaren USB’s with all the press photos and details about the 12C. Pretty cool actually.
Quality content my friend been watching you for years! Keep posting videos!
765LT owner and friend has a p1 & 600LT. The thumb drive is for your performance data monitor, track use black box pretty much!
Very cool, thanks for sharing.
I don't know if this is something you would be interested in, but there's a company called Amalgam Models (you may have already heard of them) who can make 1:8 scale models (not a typo, they're massive) in the exact specifcation of your P1, might be something cool to do once it's all finished!
Love to see this, means a lot to you with your dream car, can’t wait to see first startup. 👍😀
If I remember correctly the USB should have the car's build photos from the factory. Pretty sure they did it for the P1 and all the Sennas. Tim Burton (Shmee150) can tell you for sure.
USB you could upload all the work you're doing on it, even the sand 😊. Great content 👍
Freddy, I love your sense of humor. If what is happening has not happen. Is no sense in worrying about it. If what has happened is happening. It's too late to worry about it. No matter if you r McLaren is in pieces. It is expensive pieces. It's being repaired. You still are a proud owner of a McLaren P1. And it is still more expensive, than anyone have to include myself. And even your pieces is more expensive then what most can afford. Hold your head up, everything will be alright! God bless.. 😊
I was with Snap On Tools when they made the 24K gold tool set for the Speedtail
Watching this video is like going to a friend's house just chilling. Great vibe
How fun! Thanks for sharing your excitement with us! Jack cracked me up about the salt water pool. 😂
Amazing. Thank you.
Just a guess, is the USB for the track telemetry stuff? Like you can see how you drove your laps and your laptimes.
Love ya T!! Looking healthy bro!!
The Trophey cabinet is way more inpressive in person as Is the boulovard with all the cars on display. Been lucky enough to have the tour 3 or 4 times
Next time you're over in England, visit the Brooklands Motor Museum, there's a Senna Mclaren F1 car there & the staff let my nephew sit in it.
And, across the road is Mercedes Benz World with a driving school, skid pan, & a mesuem with loads of Mercs & several F1 cars, including an awesome exploded one suspended on wires. A brilliant day out. Search it on line
THank you SIR,,,not sure if you KNOW your helping but YOU ARE,,,I can barely SEE the CREATor all areound me EVEN thougH IT SEES US all day and night,,,too cool man slide it UNDER THE RADAR sir LOVE IT
Get an AUTOart model in 1/8 scale. It is not diecast, It's composite. it's highly detailed inside and out, Doors open and the rear compartment can be removed to see part of the engine and the rear deck spoiler is black and can pop up, wheels spin and turn. It is not considered a toy though, The price can run for this "adult collectible" from $200 to $350. The yellow one is an exact match to your P1.
Jack is great mechanic plus good camera man
Love the fact that you love McLaren. I've been a fan of McLaren F1 since Mr James Hunt won the F1 championship in 76...I was 9. My 13 y.o. son is now a fan too.
Paint it like a midnight purple but a different color like a dark green or a blue. That way, at night, you can be dark and stealthy, but in the right lighting, you can shift colors.

My guess if it’s anything like rolls Royce, it was pre loaded with information on ordering custom luggage sets. A friend I work with received something very similar along with his Phantom.
The USB is used to download your footage for your track days. The i built cameras record in race mode
Great content! 👍🏻
cool second channel with relevant stuff on. i really dig it
Definitely put that McLaren usb through data recovery software, see what it might have hidden on it!
It's to record track telemetry from the car onto, and can be looked at afterwards with McLarren's track data software afaik. This is why people say it's blank, because it is, until you put track data on it, and open it in the software (other than possibly some special hidden files from McLarren to make it work, that might also show some pictures when opened in the software I'm not sure). ;)
Why would something be hidden?
@@eadweard. Intel (and other software/hardware manufactures) regularly use hidden files for things like windows system files, and USB stick drivers as well as for file registry structures etc. It's so people don't accidentally delete important files for the working of the device. Especially on things like removable storage devices specifically (but not limited to just them).
I doubt they hid the pictures by them selves this way, but it's probably just that the bit of programming on the USB stick that's for the track telemetry is hidden so it doesn't get removed by mistake, and this program *may* contain some pictures, but I'm just speculating on that, there may be no pictures at all on it.
@@DaftFader Well any files/drivers etc. needed for it to work would be on the computer rather than the stick. I suppose it could have a hidden partition with the software _to read_ the telemetry data. But difficult to see the motivation for hiding that.
@@eadweard. Na there's often hidden files on USB sticks if for example a specific program they are ment to be used with has some kind of auto boot/auto drive recognition system from inputting the usb, also for putting the stick in things that aren't a pc - like a car - they sometimes will need to have some files on the drive to let the car understand what is pulgged in, as it's not a windows system on the car (but it's not just limeted to them use cases either).
They hide them so they don't accidentally get deleated as it can stop the system working, and if they are using a unique file structure system, can brick the drive if the files get removed, depending on what the file structure/software is (and how they implemented it), it would most certainly stop it working as intended even if the drive it's self was saveable from just a re-install of the files. Especially when it will be used in such an expensive car, as these owners may not be tech literate, if they brick the only drive that works with their car's track telemetory system (even if only to the point it needs formatting again and the software reinstalled to it), it will be a huge pain for them to fix it. It's relatively common practise tbh, and is litteraly one checkbox in a menu to implement. If there is an important file needed to communicate with the car on the drive, I can't see why they WOULDN'T hide it tbh...
Have you asked the previous owner if he has the charger,as it must of not been in storage compartment, as the hood was closed. Worth a try.
You're missing a paint to sample P1 Speedform, love these sorts of things though!
put the usb into your computer and find out if anything is on it. If it is blank then load up some music and plug it into the infotainment system so you can listen to your music without having to connect your phone, I suppose.
Me & a mate were fortunate enough to have a chat with the bloke who ran the McLaren F1 team back in the day whilst he showed us around Senna's 1988 MP4/4 F1 car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a few years back. The car didn't run on gas, it ran on a mix of Toluene & Xylene. Apparently the '80s turbo F1 engines liked it and they could run much more boost.
(Coincidentally, standard two pack paint thinners/reducer is a 50/50% mix of Toluene & Xylene. Not that I've tried in in car I owned) 😉
It's not cheap though. Works out around the same price as Nitromethane.
It is pretty toxic stuff so best to avoid it.
I did like the salt crystals on the turbo can you put that on the book?
Freddie, where did you get that dove Grey sectional couch? Matches my BMW interiors!
oh, i keep saying that i've seen two p1's in my son's school car park (a few years ago now) but i almost forgot. i used to work for electronic arts in their purpose built building on a lake, it had it's own cinema, bar, restaurants and the stair case was used in the film inception. but i was working on formula one 2000 and we had couthard and kimi's f1 cars (display cars) in the foyer, mclaren were our next door neighbour.
Tavarish, The blank USB stick is just a USB stick, you can use it for your computer files and stuff. A lot of luxury and exotic car companies give you one, I have one from Rolls-Royce... good luck with the P one… I can't wait till you bust out the Bondo on that baby... I think the world needs a P1 with Bondo on it!
Wow you acquired a P1 PACK for the YELLOW SUBMARINE…..good find!
You are missing the P1 model that has the vin on it and color matched to your exact color. Its more like an abstract coffee table item .
When do we get some new house updates? Or did the Ex take it?
I was on a McLaren hosted track day at Yas island a few years back in 720s and the McLaren memory sticks were plugged in recording my driving data. Not sure if they are the same, sure look the same,
What you dont know? On the Stick is the deflush and fix function to stick in your p1 if ever it got flooded.
cool stuff, must put in a display case.
We hid some Easter eggs throughout P1: there are logos of McLaren's Kiwi on a few systems. One of them is on the electric motor of it. It would be a fun idea if you can find all of those (I've given away one of them away)
Jack up dollys are nice. Do they roll better then HF base ones?
When you're done you should test fit if everything that comes with the P1 fits into the P1.
You should fill the display model with a blue epoxy resin so it appears underwater!
Pretty cool, I am convinced you will have a drivable and amazing P1 in your garage soon.
Haha depends on what "soon" really means here. I would say at least two years away, gargantuan undertaking taking that car down and rebuilding it all.
In one of the older vids we see that it was filmed in 2022
@@JoeMama-hi2yr I wonder what the payments would be on $500,000 signature loan
the usb is supposed to be used to download your track telemetry data. All the cameras and speeds and data
I think you can repair and drive around in your McLaren P1 without ever needing all that stuff ...this is the first and the last time you'll look at those books...the car is enough to put a smile on your face.
You stalling 2va !! We want videos of work on P1!
AutoArt makes a really nice 1/18 P1 that is fully opening and they have it in yellow as well
How much less than 6 grand is it? 🤔🤔😆
I have a model p1 in wight a 1/24 scale that the doors open and bonnet and the boot.
Love the cheap Harbor Freight products in the background while talking about a 2M car
Freddy, I hope you repaint yellow. That is a beautiful car in that color.
The USD is for you can see how much fast the car went and its history but you can see it all on car vertical
You should Frame Up and sell, bits and pieces from all the cars that you restore you could make two or three pieces of artwork out of each car an auction them off just saying would be a cool way to support your own channel everyone gets a piece of what you're doing I don't know probably a good idea
Loving the content, but what happened to the house project videos?
@Tavarish, why didn’t you try to recover the data on the usb key if there was any?
10:56 That's actually a pretty good idea!
Thx for showing me how dirty my monitor screen is. The white really makes it visible LoL
Do they laminate the ‘build sheet’ in the package? You can create the diorama of the car floating. Buy a 3D printer, scan and sell models … instant ‘merch’ 👏👏👏👏👏
You can buy a locking display case for the model car.
Some famous TH-camr needs to put pressure on these auction houses for “losing” all the loose parts of cars they auction. In reality it’s the working/owners there stealing the stuff to resell before you’re delivered the car.
I cannot wait for your really fast flying fish to be driving! Good luck!
Great things to have Freddie. Have any idea....for the model in the case. Make it into a little aquarian? Fill with water and maybe a little fish 😆
tnx for teh video
USBs are for track telemetry systems of the car
Usb prolly designed for connecting to the p1 to access the ecu n do whatever ur trynna do
Usb is probably to conenct to Track Telemetry to record data.
I got a cool key chain when I bought my Buick Encore! It’s really nice. 👍😬

I worked for the company who made those key boxes and did some of the design work on it. We used to do all sorts of projects for auto manufacturers when the run was too small for them to take on themselves. (Think picnic boxes and chess boards for Rolls Royce, centre consoles for Bugattis and shiny bits for Spyker).
I have been to the MTC and it’s just awesome place spoke to Senna’s race engineer which was mind blowing
Picked about a McLaren Senna there(not mine!) a few years back,..Its very impressive !
Freddy, what that USB memory stick is most likely for is so that if you had you McClaren in the shop and were given a loaner McClaren OR if you had all your settings the way you like them, in your McClaren and you ended up getting a different McClaren; what this USB memory stick allows you to do, is to download all your settings onto that USB and then be able to upload your settings to that loaner or new to you McClaren. This way it saves you the time of programing all of your settings into the other car.
Mercedes has this feature as well.
It's for recording track telemetry afaik.
I can just see Freddy screaming at the P-1 while working on it in a future video: "TAKE THIS; MY LOVE, MY ANGER, AND ALL OF MY SORROW!!!"

I heard that some McLarens come with a track telemetry package, and that you can download track data and video from the car on the track to the USB stick.
Yes, this is what the stick is, for putting in p1 to record track telemetry data onto, to open up later on computer with McLarren software to look at.
USB stick plugs into slot below dash to unlock extra power
