I read his auto-biography first to begin with I was very young then to understand the depth... later i read all his books thereafter I cant really fulfill my appetite with any other author, his way of writing n narrating is unique n it's an experience in itself. I read and re read Avarana ...simply superb...I am in awe of Sri S L Bhyrappaji....I will definitely search and read his works translated into English. I cant read Kannada or Marathi but I love both these beautiful languages 👍👍🙏🙏

Watching S L Byrappa speak is a rare treat for his ardent admirers like me. If the interview was in kannada it would have been more enriching experience. Anyway grateful to Shefali vaidya for this wonderful interview which was rather abrupt and hope for a continuation of this very soon.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr Bhyrappa, Now I know the names of the people who taught us lies about our ancestors and set the rot in the education system, poor me innocently swallowing it and thinking our ancestors were push overs didn't hear about baji rao or only half page on vijaynagar but chapters on Muslim rulers! Hopefully the "so called" Hindutva govt has the gall to undo this and don't falsely show the hindus as cowards or hide the genocide my fellow country men had faced and fought back.

Amazing. Hidden gem of indian literature.
English does not contain exact equivalent words in its vocabulary to describe exactly the "Gandha" or essence and fullest meaning for words like Dharma, Adharma, Moksha, Vigraha, Om, Sadhgati, Devalaya, Tamas, Karma, Dhyana and many more...When translators from Indian Sanskrit based languages translate to English they have problem with those kind of words.

His auto-biography, 'Bhitthi' is I think the best of his works. I turns the meaning of life in your head several rounds, and I don't think that there is any serious reader who may not be affected by the work.

What a Sishya Bhaavam in Shefaliji in front of a Great Man !! So appealing to the heart and mind. Shefali you have just demonstrated the art of listening in this interview. Listening is not easy and listening does not come spontaneously but with conscious state of mind. Most get confused listening with hearing, while both are at different levels. These are days if I open a clinic of listening it will run very successfully. All I have to do is to listen to someone for payment by the meter keeping time. Shall I put Rs. 10K per hour? I offer concentrated listening with appropriate candid and spontaneous mini responses to break monologue. BTW why are you putting your name in Tamil? Do you know some Tamil too? One important inference, I could draw from the conversation is. "The Communists are the greatest problem creators to the mankind. "If, with mutual understanding, whatever is running well in harmony especially for a significant period of time, the Communists become restless. R K Narayan has to very great extent brought about Indian culture convincingly in English literature. Best example - Malgudi Days while later became into s SUPERHIT TV serial even though it originally was written in English and yet reproduced back to Hindi. It shows , R K Narayan was able to translate/ bring out Indian psyche well in English itself.
