- A less-than-common TV movie from 1978 with two very common '70s themes: truckin' and hicksploitation. James Brolin, Rip Torn, Strother Martin, and a young Melanie Griffith are among the cast. Recorded from a murky LP-mode InterGlobal NTSC videocassette.

29:37 the driver of the cabover blew his whistle and swerved around Clayton and KW
3:27 start up
There were a bunch of these that never seen the light in theaters they were just made for TV
This one, Henry Fonda and the young Freddy Krueger in the Great Smoky roadblock, Willa,
Then another one that slips my mind with Kim Darby a very young almost Butch like Annie Potts and Fred Willard,
Ed if I remember right I think there was one called hijack with David janssen
If this movie would have had more cb action, might have been better than smokey & bandit,,,
Sappy saga poorly written corny dialogue patched up choreography some top talent from back in the day Brolin. Warren Martin Bryant Torn Frizzel Sloyan Griffen the Outlaw Truck the White Western Star would go on to be featured in Maximum Overdrive
Nice
I blame cocaine and alcohol use at the time in Hollywood

This movie couldn't smoke Convoy's cigar without choking. That's how bad this flick was.
Yeah but it was The craze back then they were putting them out one after another bad scripts and all
@truckerkevthepaidtourist Convoy is like a Cuban Romeo Y Julieta Churchill cigar. This movie is like a Black and Mild cigar.
@goodbyeseeyalater lol
Yeah kind of sort of in a way you're right I like I said everybody cashed in on that craze
It was the same way starting in the mid-60s with trucking songs everybody was doing them even famous people just because it was the cool thing to do
@ I promise before I leave this world,I'll smoke a Cuban Romeo Y Julieta Churchill. Last year,I saw a bunch of deleted or extended scenes from "Black Dog(1998)"
