@@arunvikrama I’m not saying them exactly should be brought back or anything like that. Just players in the Pujara or Rahane mold to just keep on taking blows and being patient and hanging in. All our players just want to go out and blast the opposition without even looking at the ball, clearly the overconfidence is showing that after all its New Zealand, that win in Bengaluru was a fluke. That’s how they would have been thinking. Terrible batting and terrible captaincy to not have Bumrah opening the bowling and terrible field settings. Seriously, if Virat Kohli was captain India would have attacked with the ball from ball one and put them under pressure. A famous line from Kohli during the 2021 lords test in England, “In the 60 overs, We should give them hell”. Rohit Sharma is a great captain but sometimes in test cricket, you have to take the risk and be brave with how you bowl and set brave fields. Just because a boundary is hit, you move the close in fielders out to the boundary, not great captaincy. When, you have been all out for 156 and are trailing by a big margin, you should try and attack and be on the front foot from ball one and not let the opposition settle and put them under pressure and ideally get them all out for a similar score like our first innings and then chase it down easily. Even with Batting, they didn’t even look at the ball and just wanted to blast them out, that’s never going to work against top teams. I am strongly feeling a BGT disappointment like 5-0 to Australia. Our batsmen are clearly caught out in turning wickets, bouncing wickets, and seaming wickets, if the wicket is flat and good for batting we win, it’s never going to work.

Even now, since his return in SA series, though he batted for lesser # of innings, his scores are similar to Rohit, VK. In fact had Chennai test not declared early, there would have been another 50 or 100.

In the BGT, Pune test, India was out for 105. It was KL who scored 65 runs. Based on the past exp too, when the team decided to prepare for a rank turner, it was known that Akashdeep had no role to play. In fact KL has been a successful captain winning series, even when he toured without RS, VK, Bumrah, Jadeja etc. KL Rahul is a victim of brutal PR, to keep him away from the team, captaincy.
The biggest misconception we have is that Indian batters are good at playing spin.Gone are the days of Sachin Laxman, Sehwag,dravid who played spin very well . As soon as a good spinner comes in our current batters will be at trouble. Better to get pujara, Rahane back in the squad for Australian series or else we're gonna lose very badly in Australia.
