When I tell you that Def Jam Vendetta and Def Jam Fight for New York were my favorite video games coming up! This video just took me all the way down memory lane!!
Facts. I can say the same 😂 First played Def Jam: Vendetta on a friend's dad's PS2 when I was in like the 2nd or 3rd grade 😂 Either that same year or the very next I had Def Jam: Vendetta and Def Jam: Fight For New York on my Nintendo GameCube 😂 Had to be between '03 - '05, I was 8 - 10 years old
I didn’t know about Styles P voicing a dealer in The Warriors. I seen Sheek Louch in the credits and was like “yo he’s in this game?” Went to go buy a knife out in Coney and I heard his voice.
Now these are the type of hip hop videos I appreciate. The crazy thing is that you could make a 45+ minute video for majority of these games because of how many Easter eggs and features revolving around hip hop appear in them
Wu-Tang: Taste The Pain was the first game I saw with rappers. Then Def Jam Vendetta. But as far as I can remember back in the late 90s the Wu was first. At least do some research first and give credit where it’s due.
DJ Qbert as a NPC was in Tony Hawk Underground on Slam City Jam Level Tyler the Creator was also in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5, also a special bonus is that one of the unlockables for your Create-A-Skater was the "Chur Bum" head, which was in promotion of his album Cherry Bomb at the time.
AND1 Streetball game comes with bonus studio footage of Bun B, Peedi Crack, Freeway, Pusha T, Kool G Rap, B.G., etc. recording their their tracks with DJ Green Lantern for the soundtrack
Fun fact, 50 Cent special ordered his own custom Nintendo DS with camo print and “G-Unit” engraved on the shell, ended up gettting a total of 50 made!! There’s also 3 different 50 Cent special edition Xbox’s that were made to give away for the release of bulletproof and they’re all “1-of-1’s” 50 also invested in a company called Gamer Graffix and has his own custom skins made for consoles, the commercials are dope
Clout Cancun you acting up I thought for sure no one remembered FEAR & RESPECT but me lol! Another forgotten game that was supposed to come out and never did was GORILLAZ & ROB ZOMBIE'S "Gorillaz Zombies" but that was like '02-ish!
While it doesn’t have any hip hop cameos, Street Fighter 6 is heavily influenced by hip hop and put out an official album/soundtrack with Nerds Clothing called ‘Steel Sessions’. Benny the Butcher, Dave East, Styles P, Papoose, and even myself are featured in the soundtrack! I’m on track number 17 ‘Sonic Boom’ with Mega Ran produced by my good friend The Alumni.
You should of added computer games , Cash Money Records had “Roc Tha House” that game was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 you choose between TQ , Lil Wayne, Boo or Gotti & you had to break in birdman & mannish fresh mansion with out getting caught , & Nelly had a game called “RipVan Nelly” or something like that , & Romeo had a game where u had to capture his clone , before he mess up his show 😂 good times
- def jam vendetta, fight for ny, icons was eh not as good - 50 cent all of them these because they do contain rapper cameo's but the game are not necessarily centered around those rapper. Sometimes just as voice actors. - true crime 1 and 2 -gta sa -saints row -Warriors -25 to life -And1

Only 90s babies know
GOATED games that deserves a remaster for newer consoles
I remember wanting to see the Ruff Ryders, G Unit, Cypress Hill and Swisha House in the Def Jam Fight For NY so bad
50 and Eminem as a team
Can't forget DJ Premier was the DJ for the radio station The Classic in GTA 4
Instant like for including Marc Eckos: Getting Up. I used to play that all the time on the PS2, one of my favorite games of all time.
Yoooo I’m so excited to watch this when I get settled in at home tonight!!! I couldn’t wait to comment tho. Thanks for this, CC 💜

Aye I like the editing when 50 cent kneed the guy and it switched to Def jam
12:57 2013* fire vid as always.
J Cole wasn’t the first rapper to get a cover if I’m not mistaken Travis Scott had limited edition for 2k19 and did the soundtrack as well
On another note, NBA Live 2004 and Midnight club dub edition 3 remix soundtracks are legendary 😎

This editing is on point. Noice. There is more than meets the eye

EMinem with the blue Ps1 that was the rarest ps1 ever
I wish rappers were available in non sports games more. I am a rapper and hip hop journalist but not a sports fan lol

Yo! You NEED to play GTA 4. To me that's the best GTA R* ever made. I've played and beat (almost) every GTA.
Slap up the comment section.
Then clap who's never heard of the Aki fighting games
Travis Scott had a special cover in 2k19

Def Jam: Icon was pure trash 🤦🏾♂️🚮 Very big disappointment and fall off 💔
